These guys have sunk to an all new low. This was taken from a friend of
mines facebook.

This was a reply from Pandora tech support to a blind user. I happen to know
that the original message that was sent enquiring about the latest
accessibility issues in the Pandora IOS app were not insulting in any way.
So, this reply is totally unacceptable. I no longer have Pandora, and will
never recommend it to anyone, blind or sighted. The reply follows.

Yeah yeah, we know we know. You're not the first blind dude who's written
us. rest totally assure we're aware of the problem. We can't tell you when
or if this problem will be fixed. The truth is, we really don't support
blind people. Perhaps you should go find another app that is more let speech
hold your hand while you cross the street friendly. Maybe our app is too
hard for you non-seeing beings. Just shows what a disaster it is to be born
blind, hum?

Anyway, tell your little friends to stop writing us, ok? We'll get to it
when we get to it.

My suggestion is that we stop this ridiculous discussion. Its obvious to me
that someone started this idiocy just to disturb the smelly stuff. Let's not
continue to play the game

I also do absolutely not believe that this message was sent from a
representative of Pandora; it was probably some idiot who pretended to be
such a person. It came via Facebook, correct? I would forward this to
Pandora since I am quite certain that they are being incorrectly accused of
this.

I don't believe this is true. If you believe what this email says, maybe you
should email Pandora and see for yourself what type of response you will
receive.

RE: Pandora Response to accessibility

2014-06-15 Thread Elizabeth Campbell
Hi folks,

I wish people would do a little research before posting what I think is
misinformation about an app. IN this case, I am referring to Pandora.
First, the subject lines seems to indicate that the app's most recent update
made Pandora inaccessible, when this is not true.
In fact, when I opened the app on my phone, I was able to see song lyrics,
the album name and so forth which is very helpful. The only change I noticed
is in the station name tab, one has to have hints enabled in VoiceOver to
hear the station name. It was a little off-putting at first, but I usually
have hints on so it's not a big deal.
As for the email response that was posted from a discussion thread on
Applevis, I hope it is not from a Pandora representative, but if it is, the
company should take disciplinary action against the employee.
If you do a little research on Pandora's web site by first clicking on the
press room link, you will find a list of top company executives. Why not
send a note just to make them aware of the response that appears to have
come from Pandora concerning an accessibility inquiry.

This was a reply from Pandora tech support to a blind user. I happen to know
that the original message that was sent enquiring about the latest
accessibility issues in the Pandora IOS app were not insulting in any way.
So, this reply is totally unacceptable. I no longer have Pandora, and will

Yeah yeah, we know we know. You're not the first blind dude who's written

I didn't want to add to the list clutter, but at times there is a serious
lack of basic critical thinking on these lists. Its almost as if people are
sitting around waiting, just waiting to be insulted or in some way be
"mistreated," for which they are thrown into a needless rage and silly
behavior follows.

I also do absolutely not believe that this message was sent from a
representative of Pandora; it was probably some idiot who pretended to be

It originated from a message posted on the AppleVis.com web forum.

This is not first-hand or even second-hand information, so I take it with a
large ocean of salt. I don't know which is more incredible: the message itself
or the willingness to take it as fact. I don't believe it's a good idea to base
responses on hearsay alone. Do thy research. I kind of wish there was an
equivalent of Snopes to dispel some of these rumors that pop up with regards to
accessibility. Given my frame of mind at the moment, I almost want to start
such a page. It's challenging enough to deal with accessibility issues without
wading through nasty and silly nonsense. Folks, let's work on the stuff we do
know about and have some direct communication between users and developers to
fix it.

This was a reply from Pandora tech support to a blind user. I happen to know
that the original message that was sent enquiring about the latest
accessibility issues in the Pandora IOS app were not insulting in any way.
So, this reply is totally unacceptable. I no longer have Pandora, and will

This Facebook message isn't true. The ONLY facebook page that I could find,
Pandora user's can't post messages to the page. There however many Pandora
pages created by individuals, who have people discussing the Pandora app.

Pandora Radio is actually Pandora Media. pandora is a large millions dollar
company, not your run of the mill app developer.

So I doubt a large company like Pandora would have such a non-compassionate and
rude employee.

exactly, to say everyone there is that way and write them off isn't going to

I believe this is one of few people who do that. I would suggest reporting

If your fringe is so enclined I bet the better result is reporting this to them.

2014-06-14 Thread Lori Dent

Hi,

I don't use pandora but after reading the responce from pandora to the
blind user about their app, I think the responce from pandora to the blind
users was very uncalled for and very rude and I think I would never
recommend pandora to anyone because of their nasty comments about blind
people an just being very nasty in my opinion .
This sort of thing should be reported and the person who develops the
pandora app should have their app removed from the apple store all
together. Plus the pandora people need to apologise for saying nasty
comments about blind people because this kind of behavior from pandora is
unexceptable .
