Shawn Paul, Thanks and just for the record if anyone else was looking for the app and could not find it I had trouble for some reason. I tried Weather Alert USA but for me, Imap Weather Radio is the best. With the former, I found there is just too much stuff to plow through to find the actual alert. It really depends on your needs and wants. I find that Imap Weather gets my alerts in a timely manner, but so did Weather Alert USA. -Original Message- From: Sean Paul Sent: Sunday, July 08, 2012 4:04 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Weather alerts on your phone Scott: As someone who makes his living in local radio. I have checked my settings as recent as yesterday during the severe weather we were having in our area. That's great, I'm glad for you. I'm glad I got the app when it was free as well. I'm also glad I'm not putting my life on it. , that I'm still using a good old-fashioned weather radio @ least when I am at my home or in the studio... Otherwise I'll keep looking for an all inclusive weather app. One that will alert me as watches warnings are sent. Re: Weather alerts on your phone
Sean Paul, I do not blame you and completely agree. If some have had success with Imap Weather Radio that is great, but I could not trust it and found the alerts not timely enough. I am fascinated with the idea of text alerts if those will be any more timely than what other apps may provide. I wil have to look at Weather ALert USA since this is not an app I'm familiar with and would like to read info on. I still relie on local radio to get the most up-to-date forecast information during a weather event. THanks for sharing the name of this other app. On Jul 6, 2012, at 3:10 PM, Sean Paul wrote: I have checked my settings as recent as yesterday during the severe weather we were having in our area. Hi, I don't use Verizon so I don't know, however, I do know of a service that does this. and the basic membership is free and it gives the functionality you are looking for. It can be found at http://www.weatherusa.net/ I have been using this for over a year and it has worked great without any problems.
