Re: Screen protector for your new iPhone with force touch or 3-D touch

2015-09-19 Thread 'carol.pearso...@googlemail.com' via VIPhone

Sieghard,

I find it much easier to get off dirt from the screen protector than the
glass and also find (don't know why) that the protector doesn't pick up so
many little marks.

Hope that answers your question, without being able to explain why this
appears to be so to me.

Just out of curiocity, why is it better to get dirt and such on the
screenprotector than on the glass itself? You still have to clean it off
eventually and youreally don't have to worry that much about doing anything
to the screen. I usually use the fluid and cloth of my LCD screen cleaning
kit, but if I happen to be in the kitchen and the screen gets some dirt or
grease on it, I just rub it with a damp dish cloth and then dry it with a
dish towel or paper towel. No cloth or towel you are likely to use will
scratch the screen of an iPhone and as long as whatever you use isn't
dripping water it's OK.

Sieghard

Well, I'll be thinking about getting one. I found that sometimes, even
though I try always to have clean hands, I'd get bits of dirt/dust on the
screen which just got worse until I rubbed it gently away with an antistatic
cloth.

I therefore went back to using a screen protector with my 4S and found it
worthwhile.

Well, Sieghard, I think you do have a point. On my for S, I never had a
screen protector. When I got the five as, it was from the store, and the guy
talk to both me and my husband into getting one. In his case, it paid off,
as he cracked his screen protector, but his screen stayed in one piece.

Maybe I'll just do without, rather then go by habit.

I read an article about this just yesterday. On The Verge or MacWorld

I can't recall the exact measurement of thickness outlined for
compatibility, but the jist was that most screen protectors already on
the market should work with the new S series. There were two other
requirements mentioned, and again, no problems were expected.
I'm sure someone can look up that specific article or information easy

I don't like them either but I have scratched the screen on my 6. I
think that I will waith till I see what results others who have a
protector get. I personally don't like cases since they hide the

RE: Screen protector for your new iPhone with force touch or 3-D touch

2015-09-18 Thread Cristóbal
I read an article about this just yesterday. On The Verge or MacWorld or one of
those site.
I can't recall the exact measurement of thickness outlined for compatibility,
but the jist was that most screen protectors already on the market should work
with the new S series. There were two other requirements mentioned, and again,
no problems were expected.
I'm sure someone can look up that specific article or information easy enough.

Mary that's a great question. I think I will test that one before I
buy or wait for someone else to report.

Hi Mary, not the glass ones specifically, but apple says 3D touch will work if
you use a screen protector.

Screen protector for your new iPhone with force touch or 3-D touch

2015-09-18 Thread Mary Otten
Hi all,
I am, like probably many others of you, eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new
iPhone from T-Mobile. In the past, I have used a tempered glass screen
protector on my iPhone 5S, and it has worked very well. Now, with the advent of
this new touch thing, I wonder about whether or not that will work with such a
protector on the phone. This glass is certainly thicker than the usual film
that people by. Has anybody seen anything from Apple or other authoritative
source regarding the utility of these glass screen protectors on the new phones?
Mary
