Maybe it is because I type all day long anyway but I cannot get the hang of typing with thumbs. just does not work for me unless I do it by accident and that is so easy on the iPad mini. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Chuck Dean Sent: Sunday, September 01, 2013 11:38 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Terribly SORE index finger! Re: Terribly SORE index finger!
This means you are using way too much pressure. The touchscreen is not pressure sensitive. You just need to barely touch the screen for your commands to register. Practice barely touching the display and two things will happen. First, your finger will stop hurting. Second, your commands will actually function without any errors. If you hear your finger tapping the display, you are most likely tapping too hard. I use my iPhone for everything. I turn my computer on once every couple weeks. I am always tapping, flicking, and so forth, and I never have sore fingertips, hands, or wrists. It just takes practice. Re: Terribly SORE index finger!
Be gentle, it takes practice not to do it hard, but it's pointless, you can be so gentle and it still works. I only get that saw playing string instruments, steel strung, so you must be tapping and flicking and scrubbing fit to bust something. Use another finger in the meantime, try split taps, that uses a second finger to do the tap and saves a tap every time you do it. Re: Terribly SORE index finger!
Yes indeed. Perhaps most blind people use to put pressure when we type with braille or a manual type writer, or playing keyboards and pianos. From personal experience, the harder i tapping and flicking and scrubbing or thumping with my IPad or IPhone, often i have more of an inaccurate reading of justure rather than what i intended. Practice it with very soft touch. If you are a pianist, treate the screen like you try to play in a PP mode, rather than a hard Forte mode. :) Cheers Joanne The flip side of Inclusion is Exclusion.Joanne Chua Leaders For Tomorrow 2013 Candidate Send from my iPad On 27/08/2013, at 20:30, RobH! bobs...@googlemail.com wrote: Be gentle, it takes practice not to do it hard, but it's pointless, you can be so gentle and it still works. I have had the same roblem and have been known to use a thin handkerchief or kleenix between my finger and the screen. RE: Terribly SORE index finger!
As many have said, I think the key is to use a much lighter touch. You might also try using other fingers to give the index finger a break. I find the middle finger works well for me but just be careful Siri doesn't misinterpret it as a rude hand gesture. Hi, let me add that I've been using the iPhone for well over 3 years and have never had sore fingers from it. So, just do as others have suggested and try to lighten your touch. Hi, Not trying to be funny but, how hard are you tapping the screen? No major pressure is needed. The gentleless of touches is all that is need to use the device. You can also use other fingers? Re: Terribly SORE index finger!
Yep sometimes i have accidently hovered over something and not even realized I've been touching it. the touch screen is very sensative.
