Re: Traveling and using The Wallet App

2023-09-19 Thread Alan Lemly
I typically purchase my airline tickets using a browser and my desktop computer. I have apps for the airlines I purchase tickets from on my iPhone 13 Mini. I'll receive emails which include my itinerary as well as the 24 hour notification when it is time to fetch my boarding pass. I will go to the airline app to add those boarding passes to my wallet. I don't expect you will be able to add a pdf file of your ticket or boarding pass to your wallet. Alan Lemly Sent from my iPhoneOn Sep 19, 2023, at 1:15 PM, Mohammad Fazil wrote:

As I explained, you only get a boarding pass when you check into your flight and this can only be done within 24 hours of when the flight departs.
If your flight leaves on February 29, 2024 and let's assume it leaves at 3 PM, then you can check in to your flight and obtain your boarding pass on February 28 at 3 PM or later. Once you wait until that time and check in, your boarding
pass will be displayed at the very end of the check-in process and at that time there should be a button which allows you to add it to the wallet.

I don't think you can have your actual itinerary in the wallet app, this should be easily available in the Expedia app.
I use electronic boarding passes with Air Canada all the time, but as I said, once you get the email that you can now check in for your flight, you can then add the boarding pass at the end of the check-in process and of course it is best

Good morning everyone,

I’m going to ask a few questions I hope aren’t dumb. Regarding this particular topic, I am just learning, and after watching some videos and reading about it, I thought I might try taking advantage.
I understand that people are able to save things such as flight itineraries, IDs, and other things in the Wallet app. Has anyone done it, and how easy is that to do?
I will be taking a trip in a couple weeks. I purchased my tickets through Expedia and thought I could save that information to my wallet app so that I can quickly access everything when it’s time to go or when I need to check in. In looking
at options within the Expedia app, there aren’t any. In looking at what I can add to the wallet itself, there aren’t options there either.
Am I going about this whole process the wrong way? Should I maybe not bother with this app and stick with other apps or methods?
I find it so cool that many people are just showing their tickets from their phones or that they are keeping track of their trip via their phones and figured it would be a good thing for me as well.
Thoughts?

RE: Traveling and using The Wallet App

2023-09-19 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Every app is different, but typically you only get the option to add a boarding
pass to the wallet at the time you check in for your flight and that can only
be done within 24 hours of your flight.
The wallet app is for things like credit/debit cards you set up for Apple Pay,
loyalty cards and, in the case of travel, boarding passes etc.
I don't think you can have your actual itinerary in the wallet app, this should
be easily available in the Expedia app.
I use electronic boarding passes with Air Canada all the time, but as I said,
once you get the email that you can now check in for your flight, you can then
add the boarding pass at the end of the check-in process and of course it is
best if you check in on your iPhone and not on a computer; not sure if you can
add boarding passes to the wallet if you are not using your iPhone to check in.

Subject: Traveling and using The Wallet App

Good morning everyone,

I’m going to ask a few questions I hope aren’t dumb. Regarding this particular
topic, I am just learning, and after watching some videos and reading about it,
I thought I might try taking advantage.
I understand that people are able to save things such as flight itineraries,
IDs, and other things in the Wallet app. Has anyone done it, and how easy is
that to do?
I will be taking a trip in a couple weeks. I purchased my tickets through
Expedia and thought I could save that information to my wallet app so that I
can quickly access everything when it’s time to go or when I need to check in.
In looking at options within the Expedia app, there aren’t any. In looking at
what I can add to the wallet itself, there aren’t options there either.
Am I going about this whole process the wrong way? Should I maybe not bother
with this app and stick with other apps or methods?
I find it so cool that many people are just showing their tickets from their
phones or that they are keeping track of their trip via their phones and
figured it would be a good thing for me as well.
Thoughts?
Jim
