Version numbers

2014-10-07 Thread Christopher Hallsworth

Hi all

Just a heads up, iOS 8.2 would be completely different than 8.0.2 as far
as versions go. For one thing iOS 8.2 is not even out yet whereas 8.0.2
is. I know it's far easier to input 8.2 but this could make things a
little confusing.

Re: Version numbers

2014-10-07 Thread Charles Rivard
Not only is it more confusing, but it is totally inaccurate. So far, the
releases have been, in sequence, 8.0, 8.0.1, and 8.0.2. Notice that the
last two updates are still in the 8.0 group. 8.1 will be the first in the
next group. Think of it like we count: 100 101 102. Then again, 100, 110,
and 120. 118 is still part of the 110 group. I hope this clears things up?

Upgrade version numbers

2014-09-26 Thread Cheryl Homiak
Hi guys.

Could everybody please try to keep their version numbers for the iOS straight
and change your subject lines accordingly? I'm not meaning to be a pain, but it
gets really confusing when people are calling versions by different numbers
with the 0 and decimal point in different places. Not meaning to nag or
moderate, but when a version comes out that actually is, for instance, 8.2,
this is going to get even more confusing.

Thanks.

I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

Re: Upgrade version numbers

2014-09-26 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hi all, in addition to the below message, let's all remember to start a
new thread, meaning a completely new message if the topic you are going
to write about to the list is completely different than the message you
are replying to. I've seen many messages of late where someone will
reply to a message and completely erase that message and write about
something else entirely. This is a hijacked thread. As for version
numbers, 8.0.1 is very different than 8.1. In fact, if you think of 8.1,
think of 8.10 and so ask yourself, is 10 bigger than 1? Meaning that
8.0.1 is a point zero 1 version, where 8.1 is a point one zero version.
Huge difference.
