RE: Text Messaging Question

2022-10-05 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Turning on do not disturb does not prevent somebody from receiving a message,
they simply don't get a notification, but the message is still delivered.
I think if you were strictly on WiFi with no cell coverage this would happen if
you send an SMS because I don't think you can send an SMS on just a Wi-Fi data
connection, only iMessages and of course messages in apps like WhatsApp,
Facebook Messenger and so on can be sent, but not a regular text message. For
that you need a good old cell connection.
It is more likely an issue on your end than on their end because strictly
speaking I don't think you have to turn on the Sent as SMS if iMessage is
unavailable, this would only effect users of iOS devices who normally get their
message as an iMessage.
I think if the message fails to send it fails on your end.

person isn’t receiving messages at the time; maybe they have do not disturb on

That sounds more like a network error. Are you on Wi-Fi when this happens? If
so, try rebooting the Wi-Fi router.

If on cellular, then I would bet it is a network issue.

I have never had a faled to send error.

If you are sending audio or pictures, also make sure Send As MMS is on.

for the first time I get the message failed to send. Not always, but quite
frequently. If I go in and manually compose and send the text it works fine.
The next time I send with siri it seems fine as well.

a text messaging question

2017-01-25 Thread Jed Barton

Hey guys,

OK, a very strange issue is happening. I just got my new iphone 7. I
brought everything in to it with icloud, it went just fine. It even
brought over my text messages. So, i knew several people had sent me
text messages, so i go to messages, and i do a search, and after i type
in the name i hit the center of the screen, and it usually comes up. I
tried it 4 different times, and nothing. However, when i swipe over to
their message, it's there. Why wouldn't it come up in the search. Any
ideas?

Emoji's are little icons or pictures like faces with different emotions,
foods, symbols, flags, animals etc. If you don't want to use these you can
go to Settings, General, Keyboards & delete the Emoji keyboard from the list
of keyboards that you currently use. What you are hearing is that a word
that you have typed has an emoji that can be used in place of the typed
word.

Hey guys,

Any of you notice that when you're typing a text message, it'll same
something about imogey or e mo gey, something like that, like it wants to
put in different characters. I ahve no idea what this means, but is there
a way to turn it off? it pronounces it e mo g. Does this make any sense,
and does anyone know what it is?
