Re: an orbit reader/iPhone question

Thank you s much, Karen. Someone else on the list suggested turning the
Orbit Reader Plus on first. It worked. I will be using this unit mostly when
traveling. But I wanted a smaller and more compact unit And Hims Inc. stopped
making the best Braille display ever by discontinuing the BRAILLEEdge 40. I
love Braille and the Orbit's a neat little devicedd

I received my Orbit Reader 20 Plus this past Christmas, and have just begun to
get comfortable with it. My main purpose for it is for use with my iPhone when
traveling, for answering email and texts. I was having the same issue. Having
the phone's screen locked before turning the Orbit Reader on or off worked for
me only some of the time.

I finally decided that I was getting really confused by the files that came on
the SD card, and, since I'm currently only using my Orbit Reader with my phone,
I didn't really need the SD card. So I just took it out of the unit, and left
it out. Now everything is working correctly with my phone.

If, and when I decide to learn to work with the SD card, I'll pop it back in,
or better yet, get a blank one, and give it another try.

Re: an orbit reader/iPhone question

2022-02-25 Thread Duane Steele
With each display I have had, I always turn the display on first, and then the
iPhone. I haven't encountered this problem until I recently decided I wanted a
smaller display for carrying with me to use my phone. With the Orbit reader,
the sleep mode feature's a good idea for instant use. However, when the
Reader's off overnight, or, when I shut it off completely, it may, when turning
on, say it's connected, but it doesn't work. The Orbit research people merely
remind me to do what's in the manual, and, with regard to it recognizing the
iPhone's connection, they just say forget the device and re-pair it. Your
suggestion's a good one. Thanks.
