RE: charging device - does this exist?

2023-12-20 Thread Brent Harding
This could be handy, as once I set up my new iPhone I got on the upgrade
program, it will be using USBC, but my Airpods Pro uses the lightning connector
on its case. The cable apple gives with stuff barely reaches the outlet in the
bedroom if I want to listen to YouTube or something for a little while in there
anyways. I could probably solve two issues with these. I know the old Apple
lightning cables get frayed over time, and I wouldn’t want to make my pods
useless, since they won’t charge with the watch charger or on the back of the
phone, I don’t think.

Rather than options with built-in cables that might fail, I highly recommend
checking out a product from RollingSquare called inchargeX (short cables) and
InCharge Max (longer cables). These are great because they have built-in
connections for USB-C, lightning, and micro USB. The other end has both USB and
USB-C. The design is very nice. I have various lengths from keychain size all
the way up to 10 feet. The longer ones come with a handy silicone case.

Charging Ports for MacBook, Mac Pro/Mini, iMac, XPS, Surface Pro, iPhone 7, 6s
Plus, iPad Air 2, Galaxy Series, Mobile HDD, and More : Electronics

It is less than 2 inches wide, and less than 6 inches long.
It plugs into the wall and has a USB-A cord that is very short for plugging
into your computer if you want to plug in accessories to connect to your

The three ports farthest from the cord that goes to the wall are for data

But the first 7 from that Wall cord both handle data and charging.
I have my external CD Rom plugged in, my usb headset, usb speakers and my USB

Hi,
I typically charge my iPhones, battery packs, and such with a single cable
plugged into a block plugged into the extension cord or directly into the

RE: charging device - does this exist?

2023-12-19 Thread Richard Turner
Here is the description from Amazon of the one I bought a few months ago and
love it! It works fine on my Dell Laptop and with any and all USB A plugs I
have connected for charging or data. I’ll explain more after the description
and then I will give the link.

Amazon.com: Anker 10 Port 60W Data Hub with 7 USB 3.0 Ports and 3 PowerIQ
Charging Ports for MacBook, Mac Pro/Mini, iMac, XPS, Surface Pro, iPhone 7, 6s

Plus, iPad Air 2, Galaxy Series, Mobile HDD, and More : Electronics

It is less than 2 inches wide, and less than 6 inches long.

It plugs into the wall and has a USB-A cord that is very short for plugging
into your computer if you want to plug in accessories to connect to your
computer.

The three ports farthest from the cord that goes to the wall are for data
transfer only, and don’t charge.

But the first 7 from that Wall cord both handle data and charging.

I have my external CD Rom plugged in, my usb headset, usb speakers and my USB
dongle for my keyboard and more.

They also make one with a USBC plug to the computer and USBC ports, but I have
mostly the older USB-A devices.

Here is the Amazon link:

Subject: charging device - does this exist?

Hi,

I typically charge my iPhones, battery packs, and such with a single cable
plugged into a block plugged into the extension cord or directly into the
outlet. What I’d ideally like is a sort of USB extension cord where I can
plug one end into a hard to reach outlet, then have a hub of USB ports where I
can plug in several devices, rather than managing a number of those bulky
blocks and an extension cord. Does this kind of thing exist and what would it
be called for an Amazon or Walmart search? Any considerations to keep in mind
as I’m selecting one? I feared that if I searched for “USB hub”, I’d end up
with the kind that is used to plug a bunch of peripherals into a computer and I
don’t think that is the right thing. I need the hub to plug into AC power to
charge my devices.

TIA,

Robin

RE: charging device - does this exist?

2023-12-19 Thread paekstrand
We bought something similar to what I think you are looking for when we went on
a cruise. One end was USB and plugged into a block which plugged into the
wall. The other end has 4 cables of different types such as USB, USBC, etc.
for plugging into different devices. It did work very well for charging
multiple devices. Unfortunately I can’t find the exact link to it, but there
are probably several like this.

You might search for something like multi USB charging cable. I can’t remember
for sure if we got it from Amazon or the Harbolt Company
(sa...@harboltcompany.com <mailto:sa...@harboltcompany.com> ).

I have a couple of Anker chargers that have 6 USB connectors and deliver a
total of 60 watts. They also have models that have some USB-c ports as well.

Each port shuts down when the current drops below about 50 ma to keep from over
charging . In several years a port or two has stopped working. Just unplug
all cables, wait a few seconds, and it is ready to work again as new.
