I forgot about your device having terminal mode, I would assume it should be in terminal mode, otherwise, it is not in a state to connect. I can't be sure about the Polaris, but I have confirmed with HumanWare that this is a known bug in the BrailleNote Touch that will not be fixed anytime soon. So beware of purchasing it if this is one of the things you are looking for (it's a terrible, clunky device in general anyway, I still prefer to use my Apex). The BrailleNote Touch has an identical problem. It seems like notetaker's are becoming inferior choices of actual Braille displays with other devices.
