RE: creating folders in iOS 7
Hi Tammy, You just have to move your finger around a bit until you find the sweet spot and Voiceover says "Will create folder with..." For example, let's say I want to create a new folder by moving Fleksy on List Recorder. I double tap and hold on Fleksy until Voiceover says "Moving Fleksy". I then drag it to List Recorder and Voiceover will say "List Recorder" as I am starting to drag it on there, but I might just have to move a bit further into the middle so to speak and then Voiceover will say "Will create folder with List Recorder". If I let go at that point the folder will be created. If you are moving an app onto an existing folder, what you want to listen for is when Voiceover says "Opening" followed by the folder name. For example, let's assume I want to move The Clock app into the Utilities folder and also let's assume my Clock is just to the left of Utilities. I double tap and hold on the Clock app until Voiceover says "Moving Clock". Now I slowly drag my finger to the right where I know Utilities is. As I come on Utilities Voiceover will say "Utilities" and as I slowly drag a bit further right across at one point it will say "Opening Utilities Folder". At that point I would let go and the Clock app will go in the Utilities folder. If you do this on an iPad you have to drag your finger even further across an app once it's first announced because of the larger screen. In brief, you create a folder by moving one app on top of another. For example, if you want to put the Reminders app and the Alarm app in the same folder, you would give focus to one of the two apps, say the Reminders app and then perform a double tap and hold. Once you hear the tone, and a VoiceOver announcement, you then move your finger over to the Alarm app. You should hear VoiceOver announce something like "creating folder." This will create a folder called Productivity, You'll end up in the folder with both the Reminders app and alarm app. You can then rename the folder it you'd like. Re: Creating folders in IOS 7
When moving apps into folders on my iPad I found that even wiggling my finger did not help to open the folder. I had to start moving my finger in small increments in each direction. It seems that it was most successful when moving to what would be the bottom left corner of the icon. Also, when it says opening folder Such and such wait until it completes the three slow beeps before letting go. And allow plenty of time because the actions have to be done repeatedly before it works. So, saying that, can someone explain to me how you go about creating folders in IOS 7? I double tap and hold on an icon and it says editing, drag it on top of another one, let go, and nothing happens. I create folders all the time on my IPhone with ios 6 with no issues what so ever! Thanks for any help and if there is a good guide on using IOS 7 with VO somewhere I would be happy to read it so not to bother the list. This has probably been asked before but just getting an IPad Mini already loaded with IOS 7 didn't follow any of the threads. Re: Creating folders in iOS 7
Hello, Anisio, Double-tap and hold an app, and move it on top of another one. The screen is extremely sensitive on IOS 7 so you might have to try it a few times. Listen for the steady tones for several seconds, and then the folder will open. At this point, you can change the folder name and move the apps within it, etc. HtH, Teresa On Oct 5, 2013, at 5:00 PM, Anisio Correia wrote: > Hello everyone, > > I can't seem to figure out how to create folders in iOS 7. Creating folders in iOS 7
Hello everyone, I can't seem to figure out how to create folders in iOS 7. Apparently, the way I used to do it in previous versions no longer works. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
