Re: having problem with dictation

2013-12-11 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hi, correct me if I'm wrong, but 2-finger double-tap is only used to end
dictation. to start it, one must double tap the dictate button. So, if
you or someone is trying to dictate, you don't start with 2-finger
double-tap. This would have the expected results of playing what ever
was last being played. it's always worked for me this way.

Re: having problem with dictation

2013-12-11 Thread David Chittenden
In iOS 7, this has changed. If the edit field is in editing mode, and the
onscreen keyboard is visible, a two-finger double tap will start dictation. If
a bluetooth keyboard is connected and the onscreen keyboard is not visible, the
two-finger double tap will not activate dictation.

Re: having problem with dictation

2013-12-11 Thread Alan Paganelli
I'm assuming here we're talking about dictation in a text field? I'll do a
single finger double tap on a text message or an email I want to reply to.
That opens up the text entry field. Then I'll do a 2 finger double tap to
start dictation. When I'm finished, I repeat the two finger double tap. I
love how dictation gives you think time when you need it too. Hope I'm
responding to the right question. If not, please accept my humble apologies
for wasting your time.

RE: having problem with dictation

Hi Denise,

Do you have a Bluetooth keyboard? If your on-screen keyboard is hidden
because of a connected Bluetooth keyboard, the 2-finger double tap in an
edit field to start dictation will not work. It only works if the Dictate
button is on the screen and if the keyboard is hidden that is not the case.

Sieghard
