The 5s was the first iPhone to have the 64 bit processor.

Hi Carol,

The reason you can still put the apps on your phone is that if they are
updated, you'll know about it and be able to use them again. You could try
searching the app store for apps you're unsure about. If they don't show
up, you'll know that a 64-bit version isn't available.

RE: iOS 11 - Programmes that are updated to 64 bit and those that aren't!

2017-09-29 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
And if you are wondering whether your phone has a 64 bit processor or not then
it's simple:
if you have an iPhone 5S or anything newer like an iPhone SE, a 6, 6S, 7 or 8
(that includes all the Plus versions) then your phone is 64 bit.
Only the 5/5C and earlier phones are 32 bit.

Hi Andy,

32-bit apps won't run in iOS 11. In iOS 10, they run, but you get a warning
that they may slow down your phone and won't work in iOS 11. You can also find
out which 32-bit apps are on your phone by going to Settings/General/About and
double-tapping the Apps button that tells you how many apps are on your phone.

Best,
Anna
