iPhone 12 and Voiceover

2020-11-30 Thread Andrew Roberts
Hi there,

This morning I took delivery of a new iPhone 12.

I have just gone through the setup process and elected to restore my apps etc
from my most recent iCloud backup.

Towards the end of the setup process I was asked to download and instal the
latest version of the iOS which I did. Upon completion of that process the
iPhone showed me a screen indicating how much of the iCloud restore was left
and the length of time it would take. Now that that has completed, Voiceover
is still loaded because I can hear the clicks but there is no speech. I have
tried double tapping the screen with 3 fingers in case speech had been turned
off but that wouldn’t appear to be the case. I have even tried turning
Voiceover off and back on by triple clicking the side button but all I get is
clicks and no speech. Does anyone know what has happened and how I can get
speech back please?

Many thanks for any help,

Andrew

Re: iPhone 12 and Voiceover

2020-11-30 Thread Ignacio Suarez
That happened to me when I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max about two weeks ago. The
voiceover came back after a few hours. I think what it does, is that all your
back up is trying to sinking into your phone. That is the reason it doesn’t
work at the beginning. I called Apple technical support, but they were not able
to do anything at the beginning. I suggest you wait for a few hours until your
phone sinks in all your back up. I hope this works for you.

Andrew

Try adjusting the volume control. I hear that sometimes the volume of
Voiceover can get knocked down to 0.
