issue signing in to iCloud

2015-03-24 Thread Crystal French
Hi,
I am having to change my email address.

Yesterday, I went in on my iPhone 5s and changed the email address on my Apple
ID, and changed the password, too.

Everything seemed fine, and I got an email from Apple asking me to verify the
changes, which I did.

Now, however, I can not sign in to iCloud.

It still comes up with the old Apple ID email address.

If I type in the old password it is rejected, and if I type in the new password
it is rejected.

I can’t find anyway to make the change with iCloud to reflect the changes, and
it won’t accept the password.

How can I change iCloud to show the new Apple Id and password.

Going into settings, and then iCloud wont’ let me by the incorrect sign in.

I did check in settings to see that it showed the new Apple ID email address,
which it does.

Thanks, if anyone can get me out of this pickle.

Crystal

Hi Crystal,

When it shows the old email address, do you change it to the new one? Make sure
you’re using both the new email address and password.

Best,
Anna

Re: issue signing in to iCloud

2015-03-26 Thread Crystal French
Hi Anna,
The problem is that when the iCloud sign in dialog box comes up it only has a
place to enter the password.

The old Apple ID and email are shown, but there is no place to enter the new
Apple ID an email address.

I have tried using the old password and also the new password, but nothing
works.

What I can not find is a place to enter the new Apple ID and email address.

As I said before, this is shown correctly in the Apple ID.

I can’t find any way to put in the new information for iCloud.

It won’t let me do anything in Settings because it wants me to sign in first.

I’m stuck in a loop.

Have you deleted the old one from your phone? In iCloud Settings, you should
see a Delete Account button. This will remove the account from your device, it
won't erase it outright and completely. You'd choose to leave everything
(contacts, calendar events, etc) on your phone, when prompted. Once done, sign
in with your new account and choose to merge all your data. That should work,
unless I'm not understanding how you have things set up and what you're trying
to do.

To take this a step further; I had something weird happen: I could sign and
just fine on two of my devices to do back ups, but on my other device wouldn't
let me, even though I was using the same Apple ID and password. Just on a whim
I deleted the account from that device, saved everything that was on it,
deleted the account from there, then put it back in after resetting network
settings. After that it let me use my password!
