The Logitech K480 VO keys are the 1st and 3rd from the left. The bottom row from left to right is: Control, Function/FN, Options, command, Spacebar, Command, Options, left arrow, down/up arrow, right arrow. The Function key between Control and Options does nothing useful that I have found. So, for keyboard help or practice mode, it is control+options+k then escape to get out of it. Hi Wayne, I called FS this morning. The rep with whom I spoke stated that I have the most recent firmware, 4.93. The version you referenced is specific to the Focus 14. I am running the latest IOS build, and am running version 4.93 of the Focus 40 Blue firmware. I am exploring Help for the various keystrokes available with the Focus 40 Blue. When I invoke help and press either the Rocker Down or Rocker up buttons, or the Left and Right Mode buttons, I hear reference to Whiz Wheels. Is there something I need to update, or is this an error in the latest IOS version? Can anybody confirm what I am hearing? Thanks. Hi Nimit, You asked about the use of the Fn key in the bottom left corner of the Amazon Basics Bluetooth Keyboard. The Fn key is not used for anything under iOS. The keyboard layout of the Apple Wireless Keyboard and the Amazon Basics BT Keyboard is the same as on a Mac laptop. On a Mac, the Fn key is used in combination with other keys to duplicate the functions of keys that are present on the extended keyboard for desktop computers, but that are not present on the laptop keyboard. Some examples are: Fn+Left Arrow Home Fn+Right Arrow End Fn+Up Arrow Page Up Fn+Down Arrow Page Down Fn+Delete Forward Delete (character) Fn+Option+Delete Forward Delete (word) Fn+Return Enter On older Mac laptops, the Fn key pressed together with keys on the right side of the keyboard was an alternate way to access the embedded numeric keypad in place of toggling on the NumLock key in the top row of function keys. On current laptop and extended Mac keyboards, the Fn key used in Mac OS X switches the keypress action of the top row of function keys between hardware and software functions. Media player controls for play/pause, forward, reverse, and sound volume adjustment are examples of hardware functions shared between the Mac OS X and iOS. Other hardware function keys control screen brightness. Software functions of the top row of function keys for VoiceOver users include things like routing cursors, control of cursor tracking, selecting windows, etc. If the Fn key were enabled under iOS, an obvious use would be to delete characters or words aftern the insertion point in editing. But under iOS, instead of Fn+delete, I press Shift+Right Arrow, and then press the delete key. And instead of Fn+Option+delete, I press Shift +Option+Right Arrow, and then press the delete key. The iPad Keyboard Dock for the first generation iPad has a bottom row of keys that is identical to the bottom row of the Apple Wireless Keyboard except for the fact that it lacks an Fn key. HTH. BT keyboard help for Mini?
First, sometimes when I use the ctrl-up/down for first or last item, especially first; and in a web page in particular; it'll get stuck and there seems no way to get right back to the top of the screen to get at bak, prev, next, etc. I would also like to know if there's a key combination to crank the rotor round to a different setting. I found shift-up/down to emulate the flick up/down. Changing rotor setting would be so useful! I hate touching the screen hwen editing as I keep losing focus off the input field and have a heck of a job getting it back. Does hitting the up and down arrow keys at the same time work? If you have quick nav on, this should be the same as a double tap with VO on. No, I don't think so, but I mostly lean on quicknav. The web page http://www.hllf.net/70 is a good resource and shows you how to use your keyboard with the iPhone and VO with and without quicknav.
