I've only experienced this when I had too many apps open. Sometimes a reboot is 
also necessary holding down the power and home buttons together for about 10 or 
12 seconds.

I've had this problem pretty much ever since Ken if the reader came out 
sometimes it goes away for a long while and then comes back just to let me know 
it's still there

Hello Amy,
I was able to get the app to take a picture of a single document. At
that time, it did not play any text and I could not close it with a
two finger scrub or double tapping on the back button so I closed the
app from the app switcher.
Now, I am experiencing the same issue; however, for me when the app
crashes after I take a picture it stays focused on the app itself and
does not move my focus to a different app. The issue you are
experiencing had been posted on the AppleVis forums yesterday and the
resolution seems to be to contact support. Hopefully, a fix for this
will be out soon.

knfb reader problems

I updated to v9.0/1 and got a new 6s. KNFB reader didn't download despite
repeated requests, so I deleted and re-installed. If I go to take a picture,
the app closes and the focus changes to "wallet" which is on the same page
of apps as KNFB reader.

Suggestions? Others have same experience?

KNFB reader problems

I just got the app yesterday, and am still working with it to solve a few 
problems.  The main problem is that, in a lot of cases, no orientation report 
is available.  Quite often, it also says No text found after the picture has 
been taken even though all 4 corners were visible.  I've tried it with the 
flash set to on, off, and automatic with not much difference in result.  Any 
thoughts are appreciated.

I'm using an iPhone 5 with firmware 8.1..
