Is there a way for us to read music sheets then? If yes, how and where can I
learn it?

2016-02-28 Thread Stephanie
There's nothing for the mac that will do this. There is an ipad app called
Synphony pro, which will do notation. You cant scan the music though, you need
to enter the notation.

I'm still trying to learn how to use it myself.

From: Wayne Pearcy I found a musical notation app that I think may be more robust
then any of the other ones that have been discussed so far. This
app is called WI Orchestra. This app allows you to score for
full orchestra. This app has some great instrument sounds and
it's free. I think you can load more instruments than Symphony..
I saw some demonstrations of people using this app on Youtube
and it seemed really cool. However, the app isn't accessible at
all. You just get a blank screen. I have already contacted the
developer to see if he can add voice over support. Go check this
out in the app store. I encourage all of you to contact the
developer as well. I really think this could be the best option
we have for composing

Best.

Steph, may not be hard to turn VO off, but if you do not have to do this then
it just adds to the overall experience.

touch the screen and the notes play and I asume are writen on the

Thank you.
I'd writen to the developer, but forgot to include a link.
Hopefully he will get back to me. It's not a problem to turn
voice over off at all. The butons are well labeled. It only
does the treble staff, so hopefully he will add support for bass
clef too.

Re: music notation

2012-06-25 Thread Scott Howell
Steph,

If the notes etc. need to be labeled I imagine this would be easy as well.
Moving the notes up/down the staff would also be doable. So, I would definitely
encourage anyone interested to contact the developer. THe more people that
contact a developer will demonstrate there is a level of interest and investing
the time would be a valuable use of resources.

Re: music notation

2012-06-25 Thread Scott Howell
Steph,

I think there would be a way to address some of this. Not having seen the app I
will offer a few thoughts. First contact the developer and you can find the
link by looking at the support link in iTunes. COnsider what the accessibility
issues are. For example, are their unlabeled buttons. If so that can be easily
addressed. Is turning VoiceOver off a problem. If so that is also possible to
address and looking at apps such as Garage Band is an example of an app where
you can touch a key on the keyboard and it immediately plays and Thumb Jam is
another app that takes advantage of this option as well.
There are a number of links available from the AppleVis website,
http://www.applevis.com and if you can provide a link that will take the
developer directly to those resources would be very helpful as well. I hope
this will help get you started.

Yes, I admit it would be. If voiceover told us the notes, and
there was some way of playing the music back, then it could work.

Re: music notation

2012-06-25 Thread Dave Bahr
now that would be cool. my concern is that voiceover blabs a lot and
we'd need to hear the notes more than voiceover. unless you just had
voiceover tell you the notes, but if you can't hear the music in your
head then what's the point of that? I have perfect pitch too so I could
hear it, but I'm not much of a composer as it is. still, it would be a
challenge for both developer and user/composer to be sure.
