setting up an iPhone 4S without a Sim Card.

2014-12-05 Thread Ahmed Khater
Dear all,

I am trying to set up an iPhone 4S. The first time I ran it via Itunes, I
asked iTunes to set up the phone as a new iphone and not to restore my
iPhone 5S backup to it. However, it seems I did something wrong and my
backup was restored to the iPhone 4S. Then, I erased all media and settings
from it. Then, when I try to set it up again using iTunes, I receive the
message that I have to insert a sim card in order to activate it.

Is there any way whereby I can set up the phone, or even restore my 5S
backup to it without the hassel of inserting a sim card into it?

Thank you.

Best Regards

2014-12-05 Thread Christopher Hallsworth

Hi,
No. A nonworking sim card will do for the activation.

I am sorry I didn't understand what you say. I don't want to insert a Sim card
because I don't have the little pin which is used for the sim card insertion
process.

RE: setting up an iPhone 4S without a Sim Card.

2014-12-05 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Arnold,

What Christopher was saying is that you can't activate an iPhone without a SIm
in the SIM tray. However, the SIM does not have to be working, even an old
inactive SIM will do, but a SIM has to be in the phone.

You don't need the SIM tool, you can use a paperclip and bend it open or a push
Pin or safety pin will also work. All you need is something to push into the
hole to pop out the tray, but anything like the above will do.

Regards,
Sieghard
