Weather App

2013-05-06 Thread Margaret Booth
Can someone please remind me how to change temperature in the weather app from
fahrenheit to celsius. I have done it in the pass but I can't remember how to
do it. I need to do it for a friend of mine who has just got an iPhone 4.

Weather App

2013-01-28 Thread Alan Paganelli
I like the weather bug app. At first it was not blind friendly. Many blind
people complained because weather bug has been around for a long time for
computers and as an iPhone app. The latest version shows the daily high and
low temperatures amount of rainfall and you can even listen to the national
weather forecast. Double tap on the current temperature and you can see the
hour by hour readings as well as the total amount of precipitation hour by
hour or for the day or month which sounds like the app is complicated. If
you just want to know the weather and temperature just stick to the main
screen and the temperature is updated about every 5 minutes.

And, here's an oddity, I find no Weather app in IOS6.2 on my Ipad 3. So,
where might I get one, similar to the Dashboard widget in Mountain Lion?
Or, even better, a weather app that also lists such things as times of
sunrise/sunset, phase of the moon, high/low tides, E.G. an ephemeris…?
Preferably free but whatever…

Weather app

2023-04-24 Thread Karen Poulakos
I updated my third generation SE last night to version 16.4.1. I have 4
cities saved in the weather app that came on the phone. When I open the
app, it no longer opens on my current location. It seems to want to open on
the last page, which is not where I'm at.

I turned the phone off and on again. Also went into the app and reselected
Current Location. That didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Weather app

2020-01-12 Thread Mary Otten
I have become increasingly dissatisfied with the weather app that comes with
the iPhone. It seems like I almost never get a temperature reading. It’s
usually blank. I also have the dark sky. Are used to really love that app, as
it provided accurate information and precipitation etc. But these days, it’s
all over the place. Predicted temperatures are crazy. Like when it predicted
that it was going to fall to 20° here in Eugene. Not that that can’t happen,
but nobody else was predicting that, and it didn’t get anywhere close I wonder
what apps people are using, which give them accurate local information, not
just based on some big general area. Dark sky claims to do that, or at least it
used to. I don’t care about funny jokes, such as are apparently a feature of a
program called Weather karat or carat whether something. I just want accurate
weather that is relevant to my part of town.

weather app question

2013-03-06 Thread Lori Dent

Hi all,

I have a question about the weather app that we all have on are I phones. I
noticed the other day when I went to a different city, the weather app
didn't display that cities weather and temperature. It stayyed on Kent's
display. I know that this weather app is supposed to display the weather for
the surrounding cities but it's not doing it. So how can I get this back to
doing just that. Is there a turn on local weather button and where is it?
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Choose the Edit Cities button near the bottom of the Weather app screen. On the

buttons near the bottom. VO tells you which is selected. Double-tap the one you
want, and then choose the Done button in the upper right corner to return to
the main Weather screen.

Re: Weather app

2012-05-08 Thread Sean Paul
I'm using Weather Alert USA. This app is reasonably simple to use once it is
set up & running. This app provides a great deal of information as well. You
can also add alerts for different locations as well as customize the types
of alerts you receive. The one downside/ drawback to this app is the cost.
The app is 9.99. But I guess that is well worth it if your life is well
worth it.

Re: Weather app

2012-05-08 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello Albert, yes it does. You can do it this way, or you can add
multiple cities. You can make it so you are notified each time the
program updates, or you can just look at the badge icon. It's very
flexible. And for those of you who don't want to use the Imperial
system, there is a sister app called Celsius which does the same thing,
but in the Metric system.

There is no delete key. Find the city that you want to delete then flick up
once and you should hear voiceover say delete
. Double tap to delete the city, then double tap on any remaining city to
return to the screen for that city. Hope that helps.

Re: weather app

2016-04-07 Thread Lois Butterfield

Hi Lois,

There is an edit button at the bottom right if it's the same as the phone.
Double tap that. When you touch the city you want to delete, do a 1-finger
swipe up. You should hear delete. Double tap, and it's gone.

I apologize if the IPod touch does not work the same. I just thought it
might.

Take care,
Lois

RE: weather app.

2016-03-29 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
The app the original poster talked about is an Android app. It probably exists
as an iOS app as well since many developers put out their apps on both
platforms, but of course if it’s accessible on Android it doesn’t mean it’s
accessible in iOS with Voiceover and vice versa.

I also strongly disagree with the statement that there is no such thing as “bad
weather”, only “bad weather apps”. If the poster doesn’t think there is such a
thing as bad weather I’ll invite him/her up to northern Canada sometime in
January *smile*.

my weather app

2015-06-23 Thread Cris Ali
Hello folks,
I am still using iPhone 4S with the latest iOS. I noticed that my weather
app does not give me data on weather details such as: pressure, humidity,
wind, precipitation, UV index and such information at all. It just gives me
the headings without any data or percentages associated with any of them.
As far as Temperatures, be it daily or hourly, I get the information. Is
there a setting I forgot to adjust?

Did anyone have this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

Regards,

Cris

Overcast Weather app

2017-09-20 Thread Mr. Ed
Hi All,

I have the Overcast app which is a weather app. It is a 32 bit app and is
not going to work with the new IOS 11. I cannot find the email address for
the developer to email them and asked if they are going to update it. Does
anyone know anything about this app?

Question Two:

So if they do not update it do I need to delete it before I update to IOS
11?

Subject: Weather app

I updated my third generation SE last night to version 16.4.1. I have 4
cities saved in the weather app that came on the phone. When I open the
app, it no longer opens on my current location. It seems to want to open on
the last page, which is not where I'm at.

I turned the phone off and on again. Also went into the app and reselected
Current Location. That didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Weather app

2020-01-13 Thread Richard Turner
In Weather Gods, double tap on the current place which should say button after
the city name.
Then you will find an option to search for a place and you can add it as a
favorite.
I have about 5 cities that I track because of having relatives spread around.

Right now, for my part of Portland, they both say it is 38 degrees.

I miss the old weather feature in the JAWS research it section. You could have

A weather app for Canadians, was: Another Weather App Question.

2012-12-08 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Jim,

I am in British Columbia and I find the native weather app that comes with
the iPhone is not very good. I use an app called "Degrees" it is a Canadian
weather app and uses the same information you get on the Environment Canada
weather forecast website. It lists current conditions including temperature,
whether it's cloudy/sunny/overcast etc., humidity, wind, pressure,
windchill/humadex, air quality (where supported) and then it gives you the
7-day forecast. You can even set it so the current temperature is displayed
on the badge icon, however due to limitations imposed by Apple it would be
spoken like this "Degrees, 5 new items". This would be if the temperature is
either +5 Celsius or minus 5 Celsius. The developers told me that they can't
display the minus sign because Apple doesn't allow it, but I still find it
useful since I typically know if it's plus or minus outside, only time when
it is ambiguous is if it's just 1 or 2 or 3 degrees plus or minus. If you
enable this in the app settings and it's exactly 0 degrees it would just say
"Degrees" with nothing else.

You can add cities and once you added them you can easily choose which
forecast you want to see, once the app opens you have a list of the
cities/towns you added and the app is, of course, very Voiceover friendly
since I am completely blind as well and use Voiceover exclusively.

Sieghard

RE: A weather app for Canadians, was: Another Weather App Question.

2012-12-08 Thread Marco Migotti
I would add my vote for degrees app as I have been using it for over a year
and it is fabulous. Weather warnings are especially sent to you on a timely
basis making it useful for knowing about tornado and severe thunder storm
warnings which we get here in southern alberta quite frequently during the
summer.

RE: A weather app for Canadians, was: Another Weather App Question.

2012-12-08 Thread Marco Migotti
I found the item in the degrees app to enable badge notifications. First you
need to tap on locations back button and in the top left tap on the settings
button. Below the locations list there are a bunch of things like selecting
units of measure and below that there is a line that says "push
notifications" tap on this and you will get a list of things that you can do
and one of them is the badge notification switch which is set to off by
default. Give this a try and see if it works for you like it did for me.

Again, thanks all over the place.

RE: canadian weather app

2013-03-09 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi May,

The name of the app is Degrees.

I think its great. You can put the current temperature or the feels like
temperature right on the badge. This is great for Canadian winters because,
when I check the temperature in the winter, its usually because I want to
know what to wear and I don't care what the real temperature is, I want to
know what it feels like.

Re: Weather app question

2014-05-29 Thread Alex Hall
Open Weather. In the bottom right corner is a button labeled "edit cities".
Double tapping that brings up a list of the cities you have, each of which is a
button. Double tapping any city will switch to it; the trick is to do a
one-finger flick up on the city. VO will say "delete", you double tap, and the
city is removed.

the stock weather app

2015-05-14 Thread Vicky Collins
Have they changed something with the stock weather app with iOS 8.3? For, if
memory serves, I used to be able to open the app and have it show my list of
saved cities with their current temperatures, but now it seems to open up
showing the weather for my current location. Not a big deal, as I can find the
edit cities button and get that list, but just curious about the change.

  Hello folks,

I am still using iPhone 4S with the latest iOS. I noticed that my weather
app does not give me data on weather details such as: pressure, humidity, wind,
precipitation, UV index and such information at all. It just gives me the
headings without any data or percentages associated with any of them. As far
as Temperatures, be it daily or hourly, I get the information. Is there a
setting I forgot to adjust?

Did anyone have this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

RE: my weather app

2015-06-24 Thread Cris Ali
Hello Flor,

I am not sure what it is. I am inclined to believe that it is a bug in
voiceover because I looked at the weather in my location on my Phone app, and
asked my friend to also select my city among the areas she wanted to track the
weather in. We checked at the same time. I got no data at all about wind or
humidity or UV Index etc… While she got all the information. We were on skype
comparing the results. To me, clearly the data is there and my friend was able
to read it with her phone using voiceover, while I could not.

Regards,

Cris

Weather app iOS eight

2014-10-28 Thread Mary Otten
I have just upgraded my 5S to iOS 8.1. That means, I have the new weather app.
With the old weather app, I enjoyed being able to see the hour by hour
forecast. I'm not seeing that with the new app, but I imagine it's there, and
I'm just missing it. How can I get our by hour forecast for the current day?

a Reliable Weather App

2021-01-28 Thread Noe Villeda
Can anyone recommend a good weather app?

I have one, just clled Weather, and what I’ve noticed about it is, it is not
accurate.

Right now, it is 65°, according to the weather app, it lists the temperature
as being 25°.

Question about weather app.

2021-02-17 Thread Carolyn
Somehow, I happened to get on Page 2 in my weather app,
which was on Cupertino, CA, a town I never heard of.

But, there was way more information than my Sanford page,
which is page 1. So, I am wondering what I would do to get
Sanford instead of Cupertino, or get that kind of detailed
information on page 1. Thanks for any help.

Netatmo weather app update

2020-10-08 Thread Marie Baisez
Anyone using this app noticed that the radio and battery status from the
external modules can’t be read with Voice Over? Any work around? Tips?
The developers only solution to the problem is reinstalling the app and sending
them a screen shot. I suspect that the text has been replaced by graphics
totally useless to us Blindies, can anyone confirm this? It would add to the
wind direction on the wind gauge, represented by an arrow. Shame! I love the
station and all the info it gives in real time. Any comments and info on this
matter very much appreciated!

Re: Fwd: Free weather app?

2012-10-01 Thread MamaPeach
Have you tried the Weather Underground app? Once you put in your location,
it will give you chances of precipitation. You can also set weather alerts
for hurricanes, tornados, thunderstorms, winter advisories, floods, high wind
advisories, heat advisories, fog advisories and fire weather advisories. It
is a great little app and very accessible with VoiceOver.

Hi all,

Since the latest update we get no more precipitation probability
information in the weather app that is native to the phone.

Anybody can recommend me a free alternative that works well with voiceover
that gives this information?

Thanks!

All the best,

iOS 6 and Weather app

2012-09-19 Thread Chris
Hello all I have witnessed some improvements in the weather ap. You will
basically get a more descriptive outlook on the weather, such as
"showers" or "fair day".

To me this is a hidden improvement as it was not mentioned anywhere.

to go on.
It's pree but you can pay to remove ads.
