Here's fine. Go ahead by all means. :)

Hi Rick,

Yes, ODE does make use for the sponging capabilities of Virtuoso
(local or our default demo.openlinksw.com instance) when
dereferencing data, so you can post to this list.

ODE is an OAT application in the main and their is a OAT mailing list
you can subscribe to also at:

https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/oat-users

But I would say the virtuoso-users list is best for now as you are
already here and it is quite active ...

2009-04-23 Thread rick

Ok, great!

When OED sponges recovery.gov, it identifies some resources whose
inclusion appears to have been inferred from content in the recovery.gov
site.

For example, ODE identifies the following article but, I can't find the
article on recovery.gov.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/03/30/nyregion/30budget.html?_r=1

Is my assumption correct that the sponger is inferencing this
relationship and if so, how?

Also, the following article which seems unrelated to recovery.gov seems
to confirm that one or more inferences have produced the list of
resources in the ODE browser.

Yes, the Sponger [1] is a middleware layer that delegates work to
Cartridges. If you are familiar with ODBC or JDBC, think of the Sponger
as the Driver Manager (interface layer) and Cartridges as the Drivers or
Data Providers which perform the RDFization.

Also note that we have 2 types of Cartridges:

1. Basic Cartridge - which generates an RDF Linked Data Graph without
performing any lookups
2. Meta Cartridges - which performs lookups via a binding layer to a
plethora of Web 2.0 APIs e.g. New York Times, Open Calais, Zemanta,
Del.icio.us, and many others .

meta cartridges in action).
