Aspartame is indeed 11% methanol (wood alcohol), which the human body
quickly turns into formaldehyde via the ADH enzyme, concentrated in
many tissues: liver, kidney, brain, retina, skin, prostate, breast,
womb, muscle -- forming cumulative micro lesions and a wide variety of
symptoms.

Other methanol (formaldehyde) sources include wood and tobacco smoke,
dark wines and liquors, fruits and vegetables heated in sealed metal
and glass containers, and aspartame, as well as a variety of products
ranging from medicines to new carpet, drapes, and furniture to mobile
homes.

People vary enormously in individual vulnerability.

Folic acid can protect many people.

Oh, I am sorry! I guess I am not thinking so well. I see now that I
did not mention that I managed to get an emergency appointment with
an ophthalmologist's office. I should have said "It was
preliminarily diagnosed to be contracted blood vessel in my left
eye." Thank you very much for the concern. You are totally
correct. I had various tests. I will have a visual field test in a
week. It should tell whether a stroke was involved at all or if there
is any permanent damage.

Thanks for the kind words. It appears it was very likely not a stroke
but rather a contracted blood vessel in my left eye. It went away.
I'll be having more tests in a week. I thought maybe I was going
blind. My wife has had a long bout with temporal arteritis, which
can cause blindness, so I was very concerned.

Horace,

Needless to say... call your doctor or optometrist right away.

Could be a number of serious issues. Migraine, retinal detachment,
mini-stroke.

Don't wait.

If I recall correctly, the levels of oxygen in the air are kept
very close to 21% by the biosphere.
If the level rises, even a little bit, the air becomes more flammable,
forest fires increase, CO2 is released, and the level returns to close 21%.
If the level decreases something equivalent happens, that now I can't
remember.

This is in James Lovelock's frist Gaia book (worth reading.)

You're right, Phil was talking about traffic cops in the concrete

"Between 200 and 250 million years ago, up to 35% of the atmosphere
was oxygen (as found in bubbles of ancient atmosphere preserved in
amber)."

That's an average decline of 0.08 percent per million years. Unless
there has been a *huge* recent change, this is a trivial problem
compared to runaway global warming which has the potential to wipe
out presently living people.

Vortexians;

Amy Klobuchar is our, Minnesota Junior, soon to be Senior Senator. She's
on a committee dealing with the environment. Phil is a friend of her dad's.

On the off chance that the President-elect asks for my wish list, I'm
soliciting contributions. BLP's recended patent is on it, ditto for the
patents sequestered under National Security. I'm going to suggest prizes
for working F E machines.

Dear Senator Klobuchar;

Phil Ratte and I were discussing things the other day. I mentioned my
letter about stopping the suppression of clean energy technology, and
your response.

He would like to retrofit the existing vehicle fleet to vaporize the
fuel, incorporate water vapor, and utilize a plasma spark plug. We
believe that we could cut the amount of use fuel by 75% or more percent.
If we did that however, we would be in violation of various federal
clean air regulations.

He continued by pointing out that the percentage of oxygen in the
atmosphere is decreasing. It has gone from 22% to 19% over the last few
years. When the percentage falls into the single digits, people will
begin to die.

Phil and I question anthropogenic climate change, but the percentage of
oxygen matter is beyond dispute.

Again, I want to thank you for your previous response, however I'm still
waiting for a phone call from the President-elect telling me that his
administration is going to address the aforementioned suppression issue,
and that he wants to read my wish list. 612 287 5411.
