Known problem, no fix yet. Even 10.1.1 didn't fix it, sigh. Or the
 A4 problem, double sigh.

MacFixit this morning has a link to an installer package which
supposedly fixes the A4 default problem. I've downloaded it it but
haven't tried it yet. The article also mentions that Apple have
apparently promised a fix for the A4 problem in 10.2.

Cairo was also available free as a free TrueType font - use the Net
Luke...
petersw

But it's a bitmap font.

Someone suggested 'zeal' but, whilst close, it was a martini symbol.

Probably just go with stars from plain ol' Zapf dingbats. Still, have the
feeling I've seen it somewhere. Maybe it *was* Cairo all tjose years ago.

Your user manual should tell you this. Drag and drop.

Your user manual should tell you this too. It just works.

No graphics in Mail

2001-11-17 Thread Stephen Chape

Hi folks,

Has anyone got an answer for this ??

Ever since I have been using Mail in OSX, I get no images in email. For
example Apple news, Quicken news, News.com digital despatch, Etc.

I thought it had something to do with Mail itself, but I just gave
Eudora for OSX a trial run and blow me down guess what !! NO
GRAPHICS in the latest Apple Quicken news.

Does something in the Internet Settings need adjusting, rather than in
the email application ?

Stephen Chape

[FOR SALE]: Powerbook G3/400

2001-11-17 Thread Ian Hooper
Hi, everyone!

Having recently upgraded to a G4, I am looking to sell my trusty G3
laptop, with specs as follows:

PowerBook G3 (Pismo), 400Mhz G3 processor, 64MB RAM (up to 512MB), 6G
hard drive, DVD-ROM drive, 14.1 TFT display (1024x768), InfraRed, 2x
Firewire, 2x USB, sound in, sound out, VGA out, composite video out,
ethernet, internal modem, PCMCIA slot

I purchased this machine brand new in March last year while I was an
employee at the (late) AppleCentre Cannington, it has worked flawlessly
since and has been well cared for! The battery is still in great shape,
and the screen has no dead pixels. It comes with the original box and
invoice. I am also throwing in a USB keyboard for those of you who, like
me, miss the numeric keyboard with a laptop, and an Apple Pro Mouse. I
have uploaded a picture of the machine and accessories here:

http://www.ihooper.net/laptop.jpg

I would like to get $2900 for this package, please email me with offers
or for further information.

Cheers,

-Ian

Apple DVD Player 2.2 Download??

2001-11-17 Thread tuchwood
Hi

I wonder if someone can point me at a URL for a download
of Apple DVD player 2.2 to use with OS 8.6.

I've drawn a blank at Version Tracker and at the Apple site.

Failing that, would somebody be prepared to email a copy
of their Apple DVD Player software that they are using with 8.6.

I am not 100% sure what the latest 8.6 compatible
version was (I think 2.2)

Thanks
