Re: Good quality laser printers?

2003-03-02 Thread Paul Weaver
Take a look at the new full colour Brother laser printer for about $1900. I
think it works on all the systems you mention. I saw the machine at Office
Works Freo. I have found my B&W Brothet HL 1240 laser printer to be
reliable over the past couple of years. A similar machine is available for
less than $500 and I noticed the above store had one at a reduced price on
their bargain table last Friday. Might be still there.

Cheers, Paul.

Re: Exporting Photos to camera

2003-03-02 Thread Dark Servant
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that but when it mounts (in 9) it
does so as a locked disk. I have discovered that there is a upload
function in the imagebrowser software that works with OS X but I'm
having trouble getting imagebrowser to work at the moment. I should be
able to fix that myself though. Thanks for the help guys.

Thanks for your input but unfortunately my compact flash card does not
mount on the desktop as a disk when I hook up my Canon Powershot A200.
I'm running OS 10.2.2
Would booting into OS 9.2 allow this to happen? If not how can I get
my card to mount?

Thanks Again

Do you have the original software which came with the camera, I use a
kodak dx3600 the software that came with this worked fine on 9 and
allowed pictures to go both ways in the mount disk on desk top type
approach, but doesn't work under 10.2.x

if all else fails some photo shops eg kodak now accept email photo for
printing OR a flash card reader that can plug into the Mac.

About 3 months old. Bought for traveling and some project work. Have no
use for it now as opposed to a desktop. Really like it but it's just an
expensive toy now.

It's in good condition of course. Can re-install 10.2 and burn
downloadable apps on CD.

[WTD] SCSI Ultrawide 68 pin internal connector for use with hard drives

2003-03-02 Thread Paul & Caroline van der Mey
I'm expanding my G4/500/AGPGraphics/OSX.1.5 on a budget.

I've picked up some Ultra Wide SCSI drives with 68 pin connections and I
want to connect them internally.

Two options are:-

1. connect to my existing Adaptec 2930 SCSI card using a 50 -> 68 pin
adapter (if this is possible).

2. picking up an acceptably priced PCI SCSI card and cable with 68 pin
connector.

I'll also need some jumpers to set drive ID's.

Does anyone have items or advice I could use to achieve my goal?

Thank you

Paul
