Ruben Hi all Just going through my junk mail and couldn¹t believe it that Target stores are selling iPods. Next step itunes store, can¹t be too far away. Bart. They are actually in the latest Target catalogue..with a 4 day wait when you buy one! Target are only carrying display stock, and you have to go back to the store 4 days later to pick up the one you want. Bit of a bummer that you have to wait, but at least they're in more stores! Interesting to note that Target are an 'Authorised iPod Reseller', and they are also being sold at Downtown Duty Free. I figure iPods are going to be sold all over the place now! Seeya Rod!
A new scam?
Today I had spam email looking like Westpac, National Bank, Netbank and ANZ each notifying me of transfers of large amounts out of my account. A URL was given to respond if I wished. I guess they were trading on shock response so that I would login with my details. Needless to say I did not! Mail correctly identified the emails as junk. Increase in SPAM mail to .Mac
Hi All! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I'm just curios to see if anyone else has noticed an increase in spam mail to mac.com (for those that use it.) I now find I'm getting about 3 every 10mins and it's just to that address. Has anyone else noticed the same. I barely use this address, and looked to see if I have it posted anywhere the net,.. well bar yahoo it's not really anywhere. Thanks. Look forward to see what others are finding. (Can send direct to me to save the list if preferred.) Thanks!! Re: Increase in SPAM mail to .Mac
Yes I've noticed similarly just in the last day or so, though not quite 3 per 10 min. On 03 Apr 2004, at 16:41, Daniel Kerr wrote: Hi All! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. MPEG2 files
I am using EyeTV400 which works very well. The thing I would like to know is: EyeTv saves recorded programs as MPEG2 files which are excellent quality but use 2gb (or more) per hours worth of recording whereas the USB version of eyeTV (not being digital) used half this disc space (eg 1gb for hour of recording) but still had very acceptable quality. My question is, once I save my recorded program as a Quicktime MPEG2 file how can I then convert into a smaller sized video/movie file so I can fit more on a DVD which I burn using Toast 6. I am using iMac 20 G4/1ghz with 1gb Ram and 10.3.3. I have the latest EyeTv400 software (1.3.5) released only today And Quicktime 6 with Quicktime MPEG2 installed. Thanks in anticipation, Phil

I vaguely remember amessage on this list saying that just opening a message can send areturn message to the sender confirming the address is valid. Is thistrue, or am I being over cautious? If you're using a bad email client (some versions of MS Outlook Express, etc) it can send a receipt w/o asking you. More commonly people will be talking about Web bugs (most often a 1x1 pixel GIF image with a name that's unique on the remote server, so they know that webbug/112312sdfsah1212.gif is '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'). A good mail client will not load images or plugins from remote servers and will not run any scripting information, protecting you from this problem too. Mozilla Mail is fairly good, but I don't know about how other clients for the Mac hold up in this regard. I use Evolution myself, which won't run on the Mac. Craig Ringer
