Yes, I haven't had much luck with CCC either. Usually what I do is
create the clone and then do an archive and install over the top of
that. Although it makes it a very time consuming process. If you're
trying to do it in a lab situation you might want to have a look at
setting up an Apple Software Restore image instead.

Hi All

I have a Sick Power Macintosh 8100 which appears to have a dead
Power Supply. I just replaced its fuse and heard an unusually loud
bang as I switched on the power to it. I think it it's not worth
meddling with. Anyone know where I can obtain a new power supply?

Regards Christian

You could try the Computer Trade Centre
now at 316 Walcott St. Menora,
according to their web site.

I've had good experiences with them in the past and they've done a
lot of Mac power supply repairs...

Yes, many of the LaserWriters use Canon or HP engines. Usually the
sign of this is that the cartridge can also be used in a Canon or HP
model :)

For some problems, if you feel like tinkering,

is an excellent resource. I've reconditioned a LaserWriter using
parts (and the accompanying QuickTime video) from them and it seems
as good as new!

Re: Best Toner supplier in Perth? LaserWriter repairs?

2004-05-13 Thread gary dorn

Hi All!

Two questions for a very quiet list today :-)

Firstly, where is the best place in Perth to buy LaserWriter toners? I need
one for a 16/600 PS.

Secondly, who is a reputable repairer of laserwriters in Perth? My usual
guy no longer repairs them (as he has moved from Perth), so I am looking for
someone who can repair a 12/640. It has the usual paper feed problems (from
both trays and duplexer) and when I have got it to print, there are
horizontal lines across the paper.

I use LaserTechnology for my Hp IIIp laserjet (its 13 years old now)
and still going strong

they do new or recycled cartridges (can recycle yours if you like)
my EPL cartridge costs about $90
they do repairs as well and deliver
Laser technology

Hi
I am trying to sync ical and address book between two computers and a
phone.
How do you get the two macs to use the same calendar and address book
files or update them automatically.

Searches tell me that you need a .mac acct or webdav server.
Has anyone figured out how to do it another way.

cheers

Mine's an Ethernet connected via a switchbox.

I thought it was a matter of making the printer directly connected via its
USB cable appear on your desktop as a printer icon, and then migrate the
icon to other desktops

Subject: usb printer on 9.1/9.2 network

Hi ho,

I would appreciate any thoughts.

I have two imacs and a G3 on an ethernet.

Tried turning on USB printer sharing but thought vaguely that this is
actually how you drive the common printer off the network - does it

an icon on the desktop and one drag and drops to that from the remote

Tom, I too would like to understand the mysteries of USB Printer
Sharing.

I have a blue clamshell ibook (9.2.2) and want to link it to a HP 1200
laser printer, and have my g3 bronze Powerbook (9.2.2) print to it
also. Reading MacHelp it says only that USB printer sharing can be done
if you are on a TCP/IP network (doesn't say it can't be done on an
appletalk network but doesn't say it can either). Is this true? If so,
how does one tell one has set up a TCP/IP network? MacHelp is anything
but. Can anyone direct me to references on how to share a USB printer
on a 9.2 ethernet based network? I couldn't get it to happen though
went through all the steps in the Help. No relevant refs turned up in
the Apple TIL either. TIA,

David
