New Graphics Card?
I've got a 2x1.25GHZ MDD G4 with an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro. Problem is I want to run Motion on it. Can anyone suggest a place in WA to order or buy a Motion compatible video card? Retailers, please email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] with prices. Thanks.
CD DVD labels
I saw in the Viking catalogue an add for a CD/DVD labelling system called afterBurner (sounds like a bad wine). It is, of course, only for PC according to the add. Is there a similar product, software and applicator, that anyone can recommend. Either commercial of shareware. I want to use my own photos on the label. TIA Lloyd --
[FS] Athlon64 setup (I know I'll get flamed for this!)
Hi All! I can feel the burn from the keyboard already, but I have a high end PC for sale. Here are the specs: AMD 2800+ Athlon64 (about 1.8Ghz, translates to 2.8Ghz on PIV) 512Meg RAM DDR400 140Gig total HD Space (40+120 SATA+20) DVD-ROM/CDRW Combo Drive Gigabyte K8NSNXP Pro Board http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Motherboard/Products/Products_GA-K8NSNXP.htm FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 8 USB 2.0 Ports 2 Ethernet Ports (1x10/100 1x10/100/1000) NVidia 5700XT VIVO 256Meg graphics card Soundblaster Live VisionPlus Digital TV Tuner WindowsXP and SuSE 9.1 64Bit Pro Linux installed Sony Trinitron 17 display thrown in. Belkin Wireless Keyboard and Mouse (I may have some other goodies to throw in too) Might be an ideal Linux box for some, especially since the CPU is true 64bit, and the version of Linux that comes with it has been recompiled for 64 Bit (as all the software). Good test box for cross platform developers, great gaming box, or a cheap way of getting into 64bit computing. I'm looking for $1400 or best offer for the setup. The components are all high quality stuff, not cheapy all in one boards or cobbled Semperon processors (its a Socket 754 board, not Socket A). Seeya Rod! [EMAIL PROTECTED]

It is very good. Otherwise you can also download a program called DiscLabel (I think that's it) from VersionTracker which also does a good job. I use Magic Mouse Discus (part of Toast) and find it very easy to work with. Hope that helps! Re: CD DVD labels
Hi Lloyd, If you hadn't mentioned applicator too I'd have advised getting any labels and mocking up a template yourself in any application hat will allow you to import your graphics. BUT since you also want an applicator a trip to OfficeWorks and you will find packs of label stationery with software and applicator, unfortunately the Imation 'beatbox' of CDs, labels, software and applicator are no longer available. Personally I would avoid Viking, for a company owned by OfficeWorks the price differences are ridiculous. Re: CD DVD labels
Hello Lloyd, I have a folder full of Word Templates for CD DVD covers that I got from somewhere on the web. I can email them to you if you wish, but they constitute over 6 MB so I think DSL would handy. I am on DSL so it' s no problem for me. CommPost: Zytech specials
Hi all! Ever had a CD/DVD stuck in your drive? Well, hopefully the following information may help you get over this frustration: Ok, so you've tried the keyboard eject key, the Command-E keyboard combination, you've selected the item in finder and clicked the eject button next to it, tried dragging it to the trash and tried pressing the F12 key? Time to reach for that stress ball!! First of all, make sure the disk is not busy, and make sure that files on the disk are not in use. Be patient and try it again after a few moments. Another method is to use Disk Utility, located in Applications/Utilities. Just select the volume you want to unmount and click Eject. Another quirky way of possible getting that disk out is to hold the mouse button down at startup, sometimes this works in getting that disk out of hiding. Lastly try this, go into Terminal (Applications, Utilities) and type: 'drutil tray eject'. The command 'drutil' gives you other options, while 'drutil list' will give you a list of currently connected removable devices. The drive will be assigned a drive number so you can try the following command as well 'drutil tray eject 1' where '1' is the number assigned to the drive your trying to eject. PM G4 OS9.1 to iBook G4 OS10.3
Dear Members, Trying to connect PowerMac G4 Tower OS9.1 to iBook G4 0S10.3 without success. IBook has Quicktime Firewire Enabler version 2.3 PM has Firewire Enabler version 2.8.1 Only result is that iBook starts up with floating large T icon when holding down T key to activate Firewire Target Disk Mode but no hard disk showing on other computer. No result with PowerMac G4 starting up when holding down T key to activate Firewire Target Disk Mode. (I was advised to update from 8.6 to 9.1) Any replies welcome.
