Re: Font Problem
Kelly, FYI I found WoodtypeOrnamentsStd.otf hiding in Application SupportAdobe. Being interested in your problem and a bit of a font freak, I installed it. It's an OpenType font created by MS Adobe, and it's supposed to work with either Windows or Mac. But it didn't. It seemed to install properly as a system font. I tried it in various word processors, but I only got the box/cross blob result mentioned by Kelly. I then tried it in InDesign CS2, the Adobe program most likely to use it, but no. Same negative result. Also, it never showed any ornaments other than an ampersand it Font Pilot PopChar. Peculiar. Don't know what to make of it. I have Woodtype Ornaments 1 (I believe it's Adobe Woodtype Ornaments 1) and I can't get it to work on the Mac. I've used TTConverter but I can't find the actual font I need in the copy I made of the Windows font folder. Either it's not a TTF or it's not showing up in the folder. TTConverter has worked for all my other fonts, just not this one. I've tried putting a Mac version of the font on my computer, someone sent them to me, but version 1 didn't work, my computer didn't even recognise it, and the other Woodtype Ornaments font doesn't work, I just get a box with a cross through it, and if I change the character to anything else I just get a filled circle. I'm running OS10.3.5 on a G4 tower, and Adobe CS Premium. I'd buy the font again for Mac if I was sure it would work, but seeing as the Mac versions I've tried haven't worked I'm a bit reluctant to. If anybody has any ideas, or can send me the font to trial, or knows of a programme that can convert Windows fonts with the .fon extension to work on a Mac I'd really appreciate it. Kind regards, Kelly

Mac Hi Malcolm Yes they are. You can put as many addresses as you like in the BCC field and they will all be hidden. They only show if you put them in the to field or the CC field. Hope that helps. Recovering video from DVD
Hi list I have burnt a film my daughter made to DVD. Once burnt I promptly trashed the Imovie project as I needed the space. It turns out my daughter had not finished with the project, bugger!, and I now need to recover the Imovie project to either Imovie or Final Cut Pro. I have tried Data Rescue on my hardisk with no success. Is there some way I can convert the files on the DVD to a format that Imovie or Final Cut can manipulate? Regards John Carlson

Have a look at MpegStreamclip. You can strip the material off the DVD with this for free. http://www.squared5.com/
Macbooks are out!
Hi All! Apple unveiled some new Macbooks tonight: http://www.apple.com/macbook/macbook.html http://www.apple.com/macbook/specs.html 3 models, the top of the range in black! All are 13 widescreen, with built in iSights. 60 or 80Gig HDs as standard, combo or Superdrives. $1749, $2099 and $2399 respectively for the three models. Square displays are gone! Nice specs on the Macbooks, which also gives reason why there is no 12 Macbook Pro. Seeya Rod!

BUT THEY USED GLOSSY SCREENS! AGGGHHH!!! The best feature about the Apple screens is that they are matte so they actually work outside and in odd lighting. Now the screen will be as useless as all the other PC laptops out there. *sigh* - Matt

From: Matthew Healey [EMAIL PROTECTED] BUT THEY USED GLOSSY SCREENS! Yeah, 'tis a pain that, but the uniformed Public probably demanded it *sigh* Interesting that they have dual-layer DVD burners as well as the rumoured magnetic latch for the screen and are almost as thin as the MacBook Pro. I think I'd rather the MacBook Pro were a bit thicker if it meant they could burn 8GB DVDs as well. :-( So I wonder how many people will go for the black model now? -Mart
Re: Macbooks are out!
Hi Martin Black, but why? From my early reckonings, I could buy a white upgraded to 100gb drive / 512mB Ram for $2104 Edu Au, but a black 80gb / 512mB RAM costs $2159.30 Edu Au. Que, Manuel? Or is it too late in the night for me to comprehend? What's missing? Reg On 16 May 2006, at 9:56pm, Martin Hill wrote: From: Matthew Healey [EMAIL PROTECTED] BUT THEY USED GLOSSY SCREENS!
