Re: project management software
Hi All, I am looking for some Project Management software in the likes of MS Project. It doesn't need to look like the MS version, nor does it need to work the same...just have similar functionality. Cost is also a limiting factor. I have just tried GanttProject and found its interface was pretty crap, ie. only the first 8 letters of a task title is shown which makes it difficult to see which task you are looking at when you have a bunch of tasks allocated. It also seemed like you could only view a single project at a time, whereas with MS Project you have all your projects in a list that expands to show tasks and sub tasks, etc. I downloaded OmniPlan which looks good, but the trial only allows you to have up to 20 tasks which is no good for me to trial properly. Could anyone in the know please provide me with your perspective on whatever you have tried. Cheers, Adam. GanttProject: I'm not sure what view you were using, but you can resize the left hand column to see more characters in the name, but I'll agree it's not (yet) really what I'd choose for big projects (on the other hand, it is free :) You might want to check out this discussion thread from Macintouch for more options. http://www.macintouch.com/projman.html Fasttrack Schedule has been around for a while: http://www.aecsoftware.com/ If you want a web hosted solution lots of the 37 signals/43 Folders/Getting Things Done people like Basecamp http://www.basecamphq.com/ Have fun, Shay -- === Shay Telfer Perth, Western Australia Technomancer The love of liberty is the love Opinions for hire [POQ] of others; the love of power is http://newtonslore.com/fnord the love of ourselves - Hazlitt

Re: Entourage
Hi All I have set up Entourage for a business reception mail (I dont use it) it worked great for 2 weeks, but suddenly it has stopped sending mail. Its just sits in the outbox? I checked and rechecked settings, everything look fine. When you hit send all it goes thru the process of logging on, sending password etc. Then 0 files sent, whilst 10 are still sitting in outbox. No, error message. I would appreciate if anyone had any suggestions I can try. Thanks Janis
Bluetooth Issues With Recent Apple Updates?
Hi Just wondering if anyone has had any issues with Bluetooth functionality after the recent updates from Apple. I am having intermittent problems Bluetooth not available and some system flakiness and wondering whether it is related to the updates or perhaps some other hardware problem with this MacBook. Thanks Adam

Thanks Adam No problems here. I've just taken delivery of a nice new Sony Ericsson W850i Walkman Phone. Bluetooth connection works flawlessly (with all the recent updates installed). The one minor problem was that iSync didn't have a plugin for the W850i, but I found one at www.feisar.com (for the princely sum $3.50) so now I have everything working. Whatever problems you''re having, I don't think it's on the Mac side. BTW - out of curiosity I installed the software on Windows-only CD which came with the phone into my copy of Windows running under Parallels. Took a little under an hour after all the starts, re- starts and mis-starts. I have yet to get the Windows stuff to connect to the phone properly, even through the supplied USB cable. It does connect, but only partially: and boy, is the software ugly! -- Peter HinchliffeApwin Computer Services FileMaker Pro Solutions Developer Perth, Western Australia Phone (618) 9332 6482Fax (618) 9332 0913 Mac because I prefer it -- Windows because I have to.
