Re: iPhone ios4 random restarts during calls
Hi Glenn, If you're on Optus they don't support Merge Call. Apparently in 2010 a simple thing like 3-way calling is either redundant or too hard. Re: iPhone ios4 random restarts during calls
Hi Glenn, I've experienced the mid-call reboot too. There's an Apple Discussion thread about it here,: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2471090start=0tstart=0 Seems to be across carriers (and countries). Some are reporting Apple are replacing phones under warranty with iOS3 versions and instructing users not to upgrade to iOS4. FWIW I have a 3GS with Optus. See page 12 of the thread above which makes mention of a possible iOS4 conflict with Optus sim cards. Matt. Last day for cheap Macs
Just a reminder that Wednesday 30 June is the last day for families with school age children to qualify for the 2009-2010 Education Tax Refund on computer purchases. I know Myer are also substantially undercutting the Apple online prices on Macs at the moment. The potential combined saving with the ETR can be considerable. You can read about the Education Tax Refund scheme at the following URL:http://tinyurl.com/2ao9vfh Or try http://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/content.asp?doc=/content/00166469.htmpage=1pc=001/002/067/001/001mnu=46377mfp=001/002st=cy=1 Cheers, Paul. iBook 10.3.9 Retrieved by Mullewa Cops
Hi all WAMUGgers Our wonderful Mullewa cops returned a stolen iBook to us at school today, some 3 years after it was smashed out of my office. Thank you wonderful police people. It has OS X 10.3.9 installed. I've cleaned it up on the outside with eucalyptus oil and repaired disk permissions. All looks good there. Trying a Software Update, it tells me there are no new updates. Try again later. I know this laptop hasn't been accessed since it went missing as it was password protected. Is it reasonable to expect that there have been no Software Updates since May 28th 2007? Do I need to change some settings? Re: iBook 10.3.9 Retrieved by Mullewa Cops
Apple may have pulled all software updated for 10.3. Not that long ago I was still able to get updates for 10.4. Haven't tried 10.3 in several years. It is reasonable to expect, but if software update says there aren't, then most likely there aren't any. The 10.3.9 software update page is listed as being last updated on August 7 2008 http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2572?viewlocale=en_US If the machine has been recovered from untrusted parties then its software should be considered compromised and a clean install done from read-only media (ie 10.3 install Discs) Have fun, Shay On 29/06/2010 8:50 PM, Reg Whitely wrote: Hi all WAMUGgers Our wonderful Mullewa cops returned a stolen iBook to us at school today, some 3 years after it was smashed out of my office. A CD problem
I have a purchased CD which effectively contains an extensive web page through which you navigate and read text and view images. In a couple of areas the images do not load and Safari or Firefox both come up with error messages saying file not found referencing an image and Safari shows the little blue icon with a ? in the middle. Ar first I wondered if this was a disk spindown manifestation but going through rapidly disproves that. A disk image made using Toast plays perfectly, from the disk image, as does a desktop folder containing the whole contents of the CD just copied across. A new CD, burned from the Toast disc image displays similar behaviour to its parent. The behaviour is duplicated on two separate computers. I remember similar problems in the past with interactive things on CD/DVD without recalling actual derttails. Can anyone offer advice before I email to the author of the CD?
