iTunes

2012-09-14 Thread Curtis Peter
Hi
When I go to update iTunes says
This version of iTunes (10.6.3) is the current version.
Why would this be, I've upgraded recently.
Kind regards
Peter

Re: Safari and PDFs

2012-09-14 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Severin,

In Safari 6 if your Control-Click (Right-Click) on an image of a PDF you should
then see a window with numerous options.
Open Link in New Window
Open Link in New Tab
Download Linked File
Download Linked File As
Add Link to Reading List
Save Image to Downloads
Save Image As

and many more options... Are you not seeing this dialogue window when you
'hold' a right-click?
I can send you a screenshot Offlist of a Control-Click on an image of one of
my PDFs on my website, if you don't understand what I am seeing in Safari.
Or is it only happening on certain web pages? If so check if it is happening on
my page that I have taken the screen shot from.

Ronni

the usual Download Linked File option. Is there a way around this so that
 PDFs behave like other files?

Hi Peter,

Apple seem to be doing updates from the Mac App store via Software update, not
from within the actual application.

Pleased to hear you have been able to upgrade to iTunes 10.7.

Re: Apple event roundup - prices!

2012-09-14 Thread gdorn
I've noted the price difference of the iphone 5 between USA and Australia and
others on the Apple stores

iphone 5
lightning adaptor

USA $199= $175 AU
$29 US = $25 AU
OZ $799 = $799 AU
$35 AU = $35 AU
S $948 (singapore?) = $603 AU $42 SGD
= $32 AU
HK $5588= 630 $AU
$238 HKD= $26 AU

Anyone got any thoughts an why there is such a price difference for the phone
when the accessories are fairly evenly/similarly priced?

Aren't these things made in Singapore or Taiwan or somewhere around SE Asia.

Hi Gary,

My guess is that you are comparing the price of a phone with a contract in the
US to the price of buying the phone outright in Australia.

Re: Domain/website hosting

2012-09-14 Thread Daniel Kerr
Hi Chris

Web In a Box's info can be found here :-
http://webinabox.com.au

I also do web hosting and domain Registration as well through my subsidiary
business (HostingServicesWA), My domains are $45 for 2 years.
You can see all the info here, for Domain Registration and Hosting:-
http://www.hostingserviceswa.com.au/

Wordpress has some good themes for Photography sites. Also Sandvox or
RapidWeaver are both quite good as well. (Wordpress is free). You can even
still do it in iWeb (though fairly limited to an extent now), but would be
enough to get your started at least. All these can upload to most hosting
services without a problem.

Hope either of those help.

Kind regards
Daniel
