Re: Can't Install Flash

2014-07-04 Thread Ronni Brown
Hi Blitto,

The link you downloaded was for Flash Player 13, if you have Auto Update
enabled it should update that Flash Player to the current version which is
14.0.0.125.
If it hasn't updated click 'Check Now' in System Preferences > Flash Player -
Advanced.

Cheers,
Ronni

Re: Can't Install Flash

2014-07-04 Thread rblit
Thanks Ronni

SUCCESS!

It appears the new flash installer does not contain the package to do
the install.

The installer itself tries to download the package during the
installation.

For me this “retrieving install” process would not work

At this link you can download a full installer

IF you have already updated your Non-Generic Applications and Add-Ons in Snow

I can give further details from my tutorials or send you the Tutorials

1. The Final Steps you need to do before shutting down your old Mac Snow

2. How to Use Migration Assistant to Transfer from old Mac (FW800) to a new Mac

2014-07-04 Thread Chris Burton
Hi WA Muggers

I hope everyone is well this very foggy Saturday morning (down south!).

I have 'bitten the bullet' and purchased a new iMac, hopefully arriving this
coming week. This machine will be my main image processing machine and my
trusty MBPro will be my travel and whale work machine.

However I would like to ask you what is the best way to transfer both my data
and applications from my MBPro to the new iMac as I havnt done this for a long
time. I recall there was a 'transfer' operation but I cant remember how?

I need to get all my images over as well as PS6, Lightroom and Office 11. I did
check that these apps will run on Mavericks. Im also expecting a learning curve
with Mavericks compared with 10.6.8!!

Many thanks for any advice.

Best regards to all

mavericks saga

2014-07-04 Thread Bill Parker
On the rocky road from the Mountain Lion to 10.9.4, several things happened.

An old HD died. Got replaced, got more RAM. Until 9.4, things were pretty
ordinary, old software cleaned out and anything that was not doing useful
trashed, as as well as some things that were definitely unwelcome - all gone.

But Mail! Not really doing what I was used to. A trip to Daniel Kerr and
improvements seen. But the random appearance of a warning that I was not
ejecting an external disk was a worry. ( was it a cable connection? What?)

Worse! The need for a new replacement HD… and the best way out of that and more
was a refurbished 13” Macbook Pro.

Then on to 10.9.4. The only real benefit I can see is that the random warning
has gone!

If there is a moral here I do not know what it is, but approximates to the “if
it ain’t broke - don’t fix it”.

So what price Yosemite??
