Re: IOS update
Just to share my experience, I consistently now do my iOS updates over the air direct to the device in a wireless environment. This has been 100% reliable for me for many years now. I have consistently found for others in my house and friends that using iTunes to download the update and then update the connected iOS device is always slower than OTA, but always reliable. No apparent downside for me, always do a backup to iTunes prior to updates as well. Re: OS X 10.10.5 Yosemite and iOS 8.4.1 Address Numerous Security Holes
I’m impressed with the increase in speed on my MacBook since the update was installed. Dragon Dictate, for example, has been transformed into something functional. It would seem likely that Apple’s release was timed to follow the Black Hat and DEFCON security conferences, where privately reported security vulnerabilities might be made public. Given the number of security fixes, I’d encourage you to install these updates soon, since they’re more important than the release notes might imply.
