Re: [WAMUG} IOS Mail keyboard masking content

Hi Alan, thanks for your reply, it got me thinking and it was the floating
keyboard which I have now got the keyboard sitting at the bottom of screen and
now all sorted.

In experimenting with this I accidentally also got to understand the slide
typing feature which I have used for years with the Swype third party app on
iPhone.

Regards

Pete

Hi Peter

A possible clue and area for googling - - -. Quote from an Evernote help
posting: "apparently with the split screen active on the on-screen keyboard,
the text will not scroll.”

I do not have time this weekend to look any further.

Regards,
Alan

[WAMUG} IOS Mail keyboard masking content

2021-01-15 Thread Peter Crisp
HI folks, I have a problem with a family members iPad. It’s an iPad 3 and has
the latest iOS 14.3. It has just the stock standard iOS keyboard (no third
party keyboards installed) and there is an issue she is having with the typing
of newly started emails when they’re quite long (more than a half screen
(either Portrait or Landscape)).

The body of the text continues downward line by line as it is typed BEHIND the
keyboard and she is unable to drag the body of text up the screen so that the
typed text is visible. It can be part dragged up, but when finger is removed
from screen, it bounces back down behind the keyboard. This does not happen on
my own iPad Air or iPhone. It only happens with newly initiated emails on her
iPad - not Replies or Forwarding emails.

I’ve looked at corresponding settings between this iPad 3 and other iPad
devices with no apparent differences.

Does anyone else have this phenomenon occur or know what else I can try to
resolve it?

Regards
