Re: Can't Wake Mac from USB Keyboard

2012-10-26 Thread Ronda Brown
If the non-generic keyboard is compatible with your iMac, you should be able to
press any key to wake the iMac.

To wake your iMac from sleep, do one of the following:
Press any key on the keyboard.
Click the mouse.
Press the power button on the back of your iMac.
Press any button on the optional Apple Remote.

Cheers,
Ronni

iMac vintage is late 2009 with Mountain Lion. The recalcitrant keyboard is
much older - a MS Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1 model 1014.

Re: Can't Wake Mac from USB Keyboard

Hi Ronni

Thanks for your response. Any key (or mouse click) did not wake the Mac.
But problem probably solved - I'll go through another auto-sleep cycle to prove
it.

The keyboard is from the people who brought us the operating system whereby you
need to press the Start icon to close down the PC. It is obvious, isn't it,
that I should press the Sleep button on the keyboard to wake the computer.

Cheers
Alan
