Re: MacBook Pro semi-frozen?

2010-11-02 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Noel,

Hi Noel,

The Power Button is on the Unibody NOT the Keyboard , top right of body. The
Eject Key on the keyboard is the top right hand side ( ⏏ ).
What MacBook Pro is it? Perhaps download the Manual if you don't have the
little book that came with your MBP.

Re: MacBook Pro semi-frozen?

2010-11-02 Thread David Noel
Hi, thanks for the suggestions. I did take the MBP off mains, as I had the
same thought as Pete. I've only had the machine a few weeks, and may be
missing something obvious. Is there an eject button, if so where? I thought
the button on top right was the power button.

When the machine went funny, I was replacing the batteries in my wireless
mouse. It's not completely frozen, the trackpad still mostly works, some
applications will still come up, after 30 seconds or more, mostly I get the
spinning wheel. When I tried a restart, I was offered the chance to save an
open Appleworks file, but buttons were inactive.

Cheers, David.

Re: MacBook Pro semi-frozen?

2010-11-02 Thread Ronda Brown
Hi Noel,

Need some information on why the MBP froze. Have you been experiencing freezes?
What were you doing when the MBP froze?

Were you using an Application that froze?
Try these keyboard Commands:

Control-Eject:

The dialog box "Are you sure you want to shut down?" appears with options to
Restart, Sleep, Cancel or Shut Down.

Control-Command-Eject:

Quits all applications (after giving you a chance to save changes to open
documents) and restarts the computer.

Control-Option-Command-Eject:

Quits all applications (after giving you a chance to save changes to open
documents) and shuts the computer down.
