Re: Another MacBook Pro problem
Thanks Ronni an Patrick, Yes I am sure that I got the correct drive in target mode, I was able to run the Disk Utilities Disk Repair which said it appeared to be OK. Repairing Permissions was a marathon. Having initiated it in the mid afternoon it was still churning away when I went to bed at 11PM. unfortunately it made no difference at all. At this stage I am resigned to doing a full OS reinstall. Adrian, Are you sure you tried to install the combo onto your MBP System? It might be worth trying this: 1. After booting your MBP into Target Disk Mode connected via FW800 to another computer running OS X 10.6.7 2, Repair Disk and Repair Disk Permissions on the MBP using Disk Utility on the Remote computer. 3. Then install the 10.6.7 Combo Update on your MBP through the mounted volume. Re: Another MacBook Pro problem
Hehe, I'm just revisiting my genealogy and was reminded of the danger of assuming age-generation correlations: My oldest grandparent (born Feb 1869) was a good 37 years older than my youngest grandparent (born Dec 1906) - though he outlived her by a few years anyway - and, in fact, was born only 9 years after HER grandmother (my great great grandmother). Apologies for the off-topic digression - though I do use Reunion on my Mac to keep track of it all ;o) Cheers Neil on 10/5/11 9:48 AM, Adrian Skehan at adrianske...@me.com wrote: I thought that you are allowed an occasional senior moment when you have 3 great grandchildren and the only people you know older than ones self are siblings . Re: Another MacBook Pro problem
Hi Adrian Patrick, I don’t like coming in over another helper and what Patrick said should have worked.
