Thanks for that James,
I am now using Bob2 with Voip, iinet, so far everything is good, I was just 
curious about the Belkin phone adapter, as a friend has a Belkin router & is 
with iinet VOIP & has drop outs & lousy phone service, another friend has the 
original Bob (iinet) & has the same lousy phone quality.

hi Derek
the phone adapter is looking like a smaller modem & just does the analog to 
digital conversions needed for the phone line through internet, the phone 
adapter uses a cat5 cable to the netgear router/modem
i think this adapter is not available anymore, but instead you can get 
modem/router/phone combos, eg the bob series from iinet, or:

I have just installed (today Sat 6th)  Bob2 with 3 handsets, so far everything

I'm currently using that  Modem/Router Netgear DG834G, with iinet Naked DSL,  & 
I have had it for over 3 years & in that time the phone has been terrible, even 
after firmware upgrade & changing the channels that the phone uses, on the 
other hand the internet is fast & good (please don't ask for speeds) & very 
rarely suffers dropouts, having only had a couple in over 3 years.
