Hi Brian,

The WD ShareSpace supports afp as well as smb(CIFS), nfs and ftp - you
might have to enable it though. I'd also recommend updating its firmware
if you haven't already. This all might be unrelated though.

I've been using one for a while - it's not the fastest but it works.

Good luck,

Chris.

WD ShareSpace vs iPhoto Library

2010-10-29 Thread Brian Risbey

Hi WAMUG,

Error message:

"The library could not be opened because the file system of the library's
volume is unsupported."

iTunes is happily residing in the Shared Music folder, the device uses SAMBA as
sharing 'system' but iPhoto library won't open, (and yes I ((Foolishly)) have
also installed iLife'11 on the same day. and it wants to upgrade the iPhoto
library too.)

I have tried attaching iPhoto on a known usb HD via WDShareSpace - still not
working.

You aren't able to reformat the drive as SAMBA is incharge and should talk to a
Mac.

I have poked around the WesternDigital knowledge base no assistance there.

has anyone been able to share there iPhoto Library wirelessly via a WD
ShareSpace?

Brian
