Hi Jude

It was me :-)

I actually did check all the places mentioned and thats why I was shaking
my head while it was happening. A bit creepy ;-)
It was weirder when it *stopped* happening.

Cheers

Do you have any iTunes related Widget running, ("iTunes" and
"iTunes Artwork")

if so disable them and watch if the problem disappears.

Thanks for your quick reply. I've got the "Harmony" widget, which
automatically downloads lyrics to the currently playing song in
iTunes, and the iTunes widget, currently running. I'll try removing
those and see if that helps. It's probably one of those that's
causing the problems.

I'm definitely quitting out of iTunes, using Command-Q, and verifying
that the little triangle under the app on the dock has gone away.

Thanks for your help,
Paul.

Did you hear about the cowboy who got himself a dachshund? Everyone
kept telling him to get a long, little doggie.

Hi Paul

We had something similar a little while ago.
iTunes would start up at login.
There was nothing set to do this, believe me I checked!

I gave up as it seemed harmless, not long afterwards it ceased its
odd behavior.

Hi Paul,

Did you check your Login Items in System Preferences/Accounts for any
iTunes related?

Cheers,
Ronni

Hmmm I did a mac training session to do with Preferences where the lecturer
edited the preferences to make TextEdit keep opening automatically every
time you closed it.

Have you tried trashing/renaming the pref file?

Hi Paul,

A couple of things you could check.

Do you have any iTunes related Widget running, ("iTunes" and "iTunes
Artwork")

if so disable them and watch if the problem disappears.

Or are you just clicking on the red button at the top of the program
window, which actually does not quit the program. (The program is
still open if you see a small rectangle symbol under the icon in the
dock.)

Cheers,
Ronni

I don't believe for a second that weight lifting is a sport. They
pick up a heavy thing and put it down again. I call that indecision.
