Hi Alastair,

To paste and match the style you have in the Pages document, use the keyboard
command that’s built into Pages... Command-Option-Shift-V.

What that does is paste into the current style, whatever it might be set at in
Pages.
Copy the text from the PDF, switch to Pages, and then hold down the
Command-Option-Shift keys and hit the “V”.
All the text will be in the font, style and size you have set in Pages.

Cheers,
Ronni

pasting text into pages document

2012-07-24 Thread alastair taylor
Hello wamug

This is small but it bothers me - I write invoices in Pages 4.1, export as pdf
and email them. If I need some of the same information for a subsequent
invoice, as pages can't open its own pdfs, I copy and paste back into my pages
template from the pdf.
But text that was helvetica neue light 9pt in the pages file and the pdf, when
pasted back in turns into helvetica regular 12pt

I wondered if everything you paste in came in as h regular, so I just tried
pasting in some text in myriad pro - it turned itself into h neue light 9pt
like the rest of the pages doc! Now I am really confused and in need of wamug's
wisdom

thanks
alastair
