Re: using Rosetta

2007-01-23 Thread James / Hans Kunz

you may consider using

open office on x11
http://www.openoffice.org/

or neooffice for osx.4
http://www.neooffice.org/
(it's an offspring of open office)

you can't get more for free..and they work, can read
 export to m$ office

it's worth more than just a try

Has anyone used Rosetta and can give me a few clues. The Mac
version of Office 2004 is $249 which is more than the Teachers'
discount price for the iMac. Bah!

Run a PowerPC application on your Intel Mac. If it runs, it's running
under Rosetta, there's nothing else for you to do.

Have fun,

Re: using Rosetta

Office 2004 runs using Rosetta as well. Microsoft are planning a
universal version of Office, but it hasn't happened yet. As Shay
says, you won't be able to tell whether an application is running
natively or under Rosetta. Its just business as usual. Try Office
2001 and see what happens.
