Details:

I made a online play today and liked to kill the enemy mortars with ripple
rocket batteries. Unfortunately, the wide sprectrum sensor towers did not
support the cb tower functions. I had to build additional traditional CB
towers to get the mortars killed.

Details:

Warzone does not verify if all players who start a net play together use the
same mods (or no mods). In fact of this, strange things happen during
netplay, if one player useses a mod and another not. Some netplayers cheat
during online play, generating buildungs via cheat that are not available at
that time. It would probably be a good idea to forbid cheating in the online
play.

Details:

I'm running Windows Vista on a DuoCore notebook, and when I tried any of the
4 most recent builds, the main menu text does not draw within its bounding
box, and the logo overhead does not display, though its background does.  The
left half of the last menu item is cut off in this menu and all sub-menus. 
When going into another menu, such as single player, the new menu items are
overlaid over the old menu items rather than the old text clearing first.  If
you select a single player skirmish, a large box appears with nothing on it. 
While there are apparently clickable buttons which will bring you into
sub-menus like building limits, these menus are also nothing but blank boxes.
 The load campaign menu item only displays the right hand column of save slots
(possibly) without any text.

The only thing I do is change the perspective. Sometimes the game loads and
there's no terrain even without I do anything. it all seems black. I can see
the vehicles and buildings though - but the rest is black.

I think there is a problem with the new path finding code + the newer code
that makes the AI use all its units.

I normally pick a 1 + 3 cpu vs 2 cpu vs 2 cpu game
20 to 40 minutes in the game will slow down alot when a lot of AI units start
to move while alot of units are already attacking or moving.

I ssh'd with my laptop and ran HTOP and saw one of my cores was at 90% or
higher when the slow down happened. My ram didn' really look like it was
being used. 500mb to 700mb used of 2Gb

normally even if I'm recording a show in HD and playing warzone none of my
cores should be over 60% load.

Details:

In a 3 player game (sk-ziggurat locked teams with 3 people, one on mac, one
on windows, host on linux) one of the players quit. AI took over the host
machine's units and started building things... The other player was then able
to enable debug mode (yes, the one you enable on command line by doing --cheat
and shift+backspace) and was able to move the host's units around, recycle
them, do anything he wanted. Note that the host machine could *NOT* enable
debug.

In the end when he quit, all the units on the entire map died on the host
machine and the host 'won' ... and then the game sig11'd...

I apologize for not being able to come up with more information than this,
but hopefully this can get fixed.

Details:

If the taskbar is on the left hand side of the desktop rather than the
bottom, switching out of Warzone 2100 with Alt-Tab causes the entire window
to shift to the right when reactivated, eventually making it unusable.  I
haven't tested it when the taskbar is on top or on the right.

This relates to a 4-player skirmish.  Next time I'll get the map name in case
its relevant.  The sound was fine at the start of the game, then at some point
it ceased.  Towards the end of the game it all came back again.  I know
nothing about IT, but is it possible that the cause is too much else
happening?

Looking back, the same thing happened on 6036.

Severity not set because the people currently chatting in IRC at the moment
don't seem to want to help a new person. :(

Details:

All of the newer versions of the game crash when I attept to play Skirmish,
Multiplayer, and use the Force Editor. The game simply crashes with no
message if I try single player campaign. Basically, the game crashes when I'm
not in the main menu.

I receive a runtime error when attempting to play. It says:

HEADER: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program C:\Program Files\Warzone 2100\warzone2100.exe

This application has requested Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Details:

Sometimes units get stuck on cliffs and walls. The most common case is a unit
trying to go around a wall but instead running into the wall and repeatedly
rotating on the spot through an angle of about +/- 45 degrees from the line
perpendicular to the wall or cliff.

Also I have seen units get stuck on top of cliffs, exhibiting the same
behaviour.

The units can be restored to normal behaviour by moving them manually around
the wall or cliff.

Details:

This occurred on the Beta Campaign level after you find the Gas Turbine
artifact. I had 7 oil derricks running off 2 upgraded power plants, and my
income rate was 5/sec.

I researched the Gas Turbine Generator whose description is "improves power
output" or something similar; in fact, it reduced my income to 3/sec. These
figures were checked with a stopwatch.

On saving, quitting and reloading the game (with the Gas Turbine research
finished), the income was 5/sec - the same as before the research.

Details:

When I try to start a skirmish game it crashes after I select a map (it shows
the map image, but crashes when it should show the GUI again). The maps I
tried were 2p startup, 4p little egypt and 8p cockate.
stderr and stdout are created but contain no data whatsoever, but a RPT file
was also created which I upload with this report.

When you start a new game, everything runs very slowly and the console shows
"[driAllocateTexture:636] unable to allocate texture", so it seems that the
direct rendering fails. If you save the game and load it, the problem is gone
and everything runs normal until you open one of the menus (the building menu
for example) which causes the same bug to occur. 
I have not had any problems with direct rendering so far, so it's most
probably a bug in your code.

In Campaign mode, regardless of running the normal AI or the Aivolution AI,
the AI never controls enemies that are pre-placed on a particular map (which
frequently happens in Campaign mode).  

The pre-placed defensive building structures fight back, but the pre-placed
tanks and cyborgs never move, fire, or even react when shot.  Only the tanks
and cyborgs that are created by the factories   are controlled by the AI,
after the play of the map begins.

Details:

First of all I want to apologise if this issue has already been
addressed/resolved, I did a search and found some similar posts, but I'm not
a techie so can't really follow a lot of what was said.

Basically, after wiping out the New Paradigm, the mission where I'm supposed
to assist the Beta Team starts off fine, but once I click on the Launch
Transport button the game simply closes down.  No error messages, no freezes,
no debug info, it just closes down.  The OS itself remains in tact, but the
game completely shuts down.

I've noticed on the Download page on the main site that the last stable
release is 2.0.1, so I can only assume it's a bug.

I've just downloaded 2.0.1 & will try it to see if the issue still occurs. 
But if there's a way to resolve this issue in later versions please let me
know.

Details:

Hi guys, i have played this game over multiplayer, and we were of 2 and 6
computers. after computers had huge amount of tanks (stuck in the base) we
had a huge lag. after we click tank to move to certain location, it does not!
unless there are no obstruction like trees or building between the tank and
destination. So the game play become so boring...
the network speed was local more than 10mb/s and map was 8 players. when we
played with 4 - it was more or less ok, cause computers had no chance of
extending the base.

also happened once, when i upgraded first two mchineguns, and then upgraded
contruction vehicle, some strange upgradings appeard, showing some white
boxes, after i clicked on them to upgrade, the game have crashed.

SUGGESTION:
i would recommend to rebuild the game on spring engine, as it is fast,
beautiful, with changing terrain, and etc. I believe, that this game could be
integrated easily. there are mod example created especially for this game
Blox, but after u build mashine gun, and a  car, machinegun is moving to the
top of the car and attaches it self. but using LUA scripts in game, I believe
would be possible to create WZ2100 interface.

The engine of wz2100 looks wery old fashion, i understand it is original game
engine, but using spring engine it would look nicer, would not be laggy
playing online. I believe, it would be possible to integrate spring engine
into wz2100 making it look the same way.

We were three people playing on a 4 players map T1
and suddenly while the attacks became more intense the game detected an

I can't reproduce this yet but the backtrace has debug info.  

I had been playing the campaign in that session, I finished a campaign game,
started a skirmish. In the setup I chose Max Oil, Advanced Base, Preview Map,
then set the map to SK_Startup and clicked the Structure Limits button -
warzone2100 crashed with:

error   : [allocateName] Unable to find string resource for RocketSuper
Saved dump file to '/tmp/warzone2100.gdmp'
Aborted

There are a couple of other "Unable to find string resource for RocketSuper"
bug reports but triggered in other ways.

When I tried to load a saved game called "AHAHAHAAHA" (I saved it
yesterday with the new version 2.1.0~1.beta4-1) warzone crashed:

Details:

On the bigger maps, the coordinates turn negative when the mouse cursor
approaches the top boundry of the radar window, and it draws the 'frustum'
incorrectly as a result.
On smaller maps, it kicks the frustum to the upper left.

Details:

At the end of the mission where you investigate the energy surge and first
get warned off by the new paradigm (sorry not sure of the number), when i
destroy the final buildings, the level ends and the level end screen appears.
Whether i click save or continue I get a crash to desktop with no messages
other than "Warzone has unexpectedly quit"

Tried using debug mode to reload the level start and cause myself to win , as
before i get the level end screen but either option causes the game to crash
to desktop. Also tried replaying from the start of the mission, and also
reinstalling the game and all files in application support.

Crash log attached as text doc below.

OSX 10.5.3 on 2.33ghz C2D MacbookPro, game version 10.5.3

Details:

Warzone 2.0.10 keeps crashing when I am playing the single player game.  The
problem is very consistent.  It always occurs on the 5th mission.   I have
not been able to complete this level without a crash.  So far it has always
occurred after at least 20 minutes of play.  But I have been within a few
minutes of time running out before the crash.  There is 1 hour allotted for
this mission.

I am running on Mac OSX 10.4.11

Here's the relevant entry from the console log:

Details:

When structure limits are set to: factories = 0
and start is truck only.

In order to setup either cyborg or vtol game w/computers enabled.
The computer players will build oil, power plant, hardened sensor tower,
flame bunker, and repair facility.

They will not create any other structures. Seems that if they can not build
the first factory they never proceed on building research or alternate
factories.

Viewing the details of a previously researched item removes that item from
the list of items on subsequent views of the intelligence display.

Steps to reproduce...

1. Press F5 or left click the intelligence display icon

2. left click a research item from those listed. This displays the research
details popup. 

3. Close this popup

4. Click the close icon

Press F5 or left click the icon to bring up the intelligence  display

The viewed research item is no longer available to select for viewing.

Steps 3 ad 4 may be skipped for a more direct view of the problem

Details:

Segfault on line 428 of projectile.c occured while shooting at one of the
black dero buildings in SUB_1_3S using mortars.

I will attempt to reproduce the error in spite of its randomness - Im sure
this wont be the last time I see it.

If someone will tell me how to get a gdb dump out of code::blocks then I
would be happy to provide one next time I encounter this error...

The attached Stderr is only the last few lines, as I am running with --debug
all its around 4MB and it wont fit.

Fresh install from Fedora repository.
Changed resolution to 800x600
Changed texture to 32bit

When starting a new game, it crashes randomly. At one time, I managed to
complete half scenario before it crashes. Other times, it crashes in the
first 9 seconds.

When playing the campain i load/save games without any problem. But when i go
further into the game i start having problem saving games. Old saved still
work new ones don't (aka when i go further in the campain).

When i load one of this buggy save games, the program starts loading (the
"activity" animation runs well), then it freeze and finally crash.

Please, let me know if there is a way to provide you more detailed
informations (debug like mode).

When I tried to create a batch of different buildings assigned to a single or
group of builders (in campaign or multiplayer) I click on the item I want to
build and while holding CTRL down when selecting where I want it to go it
should pop up the build menu again.  This only works when you click the
"Demolish Structure" icon not when building anything.

When making a patrol of any unit I noticed there are two patrol buttons.  I
am not sure how close you are wanting keep to the original but they seem to
function differently than each other. 

The left works as before with units starting off and patroling between their
start position to a point designated by me and looping this action.

The Right works like the left but there is not a loop, one time out and back
even if there are enemies.

BTW WZ2100 Resurection is awesome as I loved the original.

Details:

This Bug is very similar to bug #9347 .
This Bug is appeared with the warzone version : 2.1 build 5294 . The warzone
version 2.1 build 5260 is working perfectly .

When I try to start a skirmish with AI ( 1 ,3 or 7 ) the game crash , and  go
under windows desktop . To reproduce this crash ,  start a new skirmish game .

I built via the follow
http://wiki.wz2100.net/Linux_Compile_Guide
but used flex-2.5.35.tar.bz2
on Ubuntu 8.04 x64

this crash is easy to reproduce

multiplayer > One Player Skirmish > 2 vs 6 
move the AI level to the far left

build a lot of units, make sure the game gets over the 2 hour or 1 1/2 hour
mark. slowly attack each base one by one. when you select on a group of units
and click a place aleast half a screen way it the units don't move at all the
game will crash soon.   

When I trying to move just one trunk over a inch away on my 15in LCD and it
didn't move. I know It was going to crash in less then a minute and it did.

NV GF6200 V256MB AGP
512MB ram
HD 160GB

I sent 8 droids on board of transport. 7 of them successfully came in, but
8th stood near transport and the next moment I saw my desktop.

Details:

I've prepared a group to first transport mission. When I launch transport, it
flies slowly to world border and at moment, when I should get intermission
screen with mission objectives, I am getting segmentation fault or even total
system lockup.

I've attached dump, the game has left in /tmp. I have made small code
changes, while was trying to find out the nature of bug - I have uncommented
several debug output lines.

some units in a group goto the NW corner of the map and park no matter where
they are told to go on the first campaign map (not away missions)
this is on the SVN TRUNK r5204
 didn't cause an error or a crash, just kinda annoying.
some units also go right past repair building and goto NW corner and park as
well.

Details:

When beginning campaign 2, after the ten minute mission in which you prepare,
the map has no textures or the textures are patchy.  The game has also crashed
twice when continuing directly and not saving.  I'm not able to replicate the
error when loading from the first mission of the second campaign, only when
moving from the 10 minute mission to the mission where you are assisting beta
team.  I'm attaching the two txt files containing the errors I received when
this occurred, as well as the mission

I'm using Windows XP on a IBM thinkpad R52.  Oddly enough when I went to
retrieve the savefiles, the .es version of the game attached was missing.  I
will try a few more variations with this file to see if I see any difference.

Details:

In fpathTableReset(), there is a very weird if statement that is the cause of
tons of leaks:

if (resetIterationCount < INT_MAX - 1)
...
 on this system, INT_MAX  =  2147483647.

Thus we only really free when the counter is at 2147483646?
This can't be what you wanted, and is causing me to fall asleep waiting for
it to output all the leaks in astar.c.

Is there a reason why we changed from a linked list to a 2D array for this
stuff?

I play with Warzone for some days.
I'm playing campagn alpha mission 6.
For now i've used only save after mission complete.
I just save during game (esc+save) then quit
But i'm not able to load the saved game, it crash...

On the MacOS X console i got :

I'm trying to compile Warzone on Mac OS X 10.4.11 on an Intel Mac Book Pro (I
installed all necessary libraries with macports) using "./configure; make" but

As it wasn't linking against libintl I could fix this with the following

With theses "patches" the compilation worked. But when I tried to run the
game no fonts were displayed. This is caused by "lib/ivis_opengl/textdraw.c"

whent he game freazes it pauses for a few seconds and then resets my pc can
become a tad annoying but being beta i wasnt expecting everything to be
working there is no error code that i can see the pc completly locks up and
resets leaving no data in the memory to check sorry i cant be more indepth

it here too.

The game crashes, when my transport to is loaded with units, I start it, and
the away mission should start in Beta 6 mission of the single player
campaign. I use the Debian package of 2.1 beta 2. This is the console
output:

Having installed warzone2100 on a Debian Etch box from the .deb @ :

I run into the fact that there are no stats on the end of a skirmish game. I
play the game, win, and I get the fireworks and a blue window, saying
nothing.

When I return to the command prompt there is an error (which I do not know if

In beta1, corruption in the buildlimits code caused the Demolish ability to
cease functioning (or so I recall hearing).  In beta2, the Demolish ability
holds out just fine, even with buildlimits altered.  However, the buildlimits
themselves are not being enforced.

For instance:

I set max VTOL factories to 0.  I can still build VTOL factories and the AI
will begin swarming me with VTOLs around the 20-30 min mark.  I can also
scout the AI base and I do find VTOL factories in them, even with them
limited to none.  Were buildlimits removed as a workaround to stack
corruption, or is this a completely new problem?

While loading a map (singleplayer 1.mission or multiplay any map) warzone
crashes everytime. Tried changes in graphics and what i could find but didn't
change anything

Details:

The sound sometimes stutter, like, I don't hear the Command Turret's fire
sound

Some times the mp3 music stops playing, and I have to hit esc twice to resume
it

However, sometimes the music overlaps itself, and I end listening to one
music over the other.

After about 10min of ininterrupt play, some sounds get "stuck", I send a
wheeled vehicled somewhere and I still can hear it's engine for about 1
minute after it has stopped.

Sometimes I can hear shots and hits but when I'm not focusing the action.
Example: I'm at the Alpha Base, but I can still hear my units fighting NP
near the canynon that leads to the east. This also happens with the "truck
building" hum

Details:

My commander and it's units have the "Retreat at Heavy Damage" option on. But
when the commander's units (not itself) go to the repair facility, sometimes
they just stand there, off the facility's range, and blocks prevents other
units' repairs. This also happens when I just send any unit for repair

Details:

Noticed that when i had 2 vtols assigned to spectrum tower, then the left
click on the tower says that 0 units assigned to tower.

vtol was : bug--tankkiller

alsowhen i first assigned the second vtol to the turret, it just flew to
my base and landed there. it was assigned to the tower  
after second or third time.

noticed that the Assault cannon bunker wont do any damage to enemy
hardpoint(s)

watched my bunker shooting for a while and it didn´t do any damage of if it
did, then it was so little that it wasn´t noticeable.

cant tell exactly what bunkers and hardcores i/enemy had because i have no
text in menus :D
the enemy´s bunker shot missiles.

several minutes after the team play is running this happens on different
maps. I have seen it in the 8 player maps miza maze and sk-wheel. AIvolution

Details:

I noticed that Twin assault gun and Hyper velocity cannon is not doing any
damage to enemy or it is doing minor damage.

I had 5 twin assault guns(Two Turrets per tank), and they were shooting enemy
viper/wheels/truck...for 5 seconds and did no harm at all.they Also didnt do
any harm to the cyborgs. 
Same happened with HPV cannons.
Btw:i was technologically more advanced than the enemy.

Detailed Description
The warzone2100 application attempted to make the its stack executable.
This is a potential security problem.  This should never ever be
necessary.
stack memory is not executable on most OSes these days and this will not
change. Executable stack memory is one of the biggest security problems.
An
execstack error might in fact be most likely raised by malicious code.
Applications are sometimes coded incorrectly and request this
permission.
The http://people.redhat.com/drepper/selinux-mem.html web page explains
how
to remove this requirement.  If warzone2100 does not work and you need it
to
work, you can configure SELinux temporarily to allow this access until
the
application is fixed. Please file a
http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi against this package.

Allowing Access
Sometimes a library is accidentally marked with the execstack flag, if
you
find a library with this flag you can clear it with the execstack -c
LIBRARY_PATH.  Then retry your application.  If the app continues to not
work, you can turn the flack back on with execstac -s LIBRARY_PATH.
Otherwise, if you trust warzone2100 to run correctly, you can change the
context of the executable to unconfined_execmem_exec_t. "chcon -t

Well this isn't an error or a serious bug in the game first of all...

I was using a Heavy body with a multi-turret design. Ripple Rocket in
conjunction with Mini-Rocket Artillery... I found when assigned to a sensor
turret that the ripple rocket would fire with no problems but the Mini-Rocket
Artillery wouldn’t as normal due to the range difference of course. But the
Mini-Rocket Artillery would stay fixed to what the Ripple Rocket was firing
at meaning; that when ever a tank got in range of the Mini-Rocket Artillery's
Range it wouldn't even fire. (Sensor Assigned)

I found that practically with all the turret's, depending on what angle the
turret is firing from even if assigned to a sensor turret the second turret
doesn't always fire at the same time as the first turret. (Elevation)

There is a slight problem with targeting; where as one turret is firing at
one target while the other is trying to fire at another causing the tank to
become confused turning from side to side until either the target has moved
out or range or been destroyed or by manually controlling the tank.

(Now that most multi turret designs go over 1000 Power; of course depending
on your design, I think in the design view where it shows it has 1000 Power
should be changed to properly show how much the tank really costs. For
Example if the tanks costs 1200 Power... I know with the manufacturing icon
you can check the full price over 1000 Power with the over head cursor).

Finally! This is 100% confirmed, but from my 1 AI, 1 Team testing as an ally.
I found that for instance if you set the game map settings to allow one
structure of that type to be built, the 1 AI ally won't listen to this rule.
(I recently noticed not team AI doesn't necessarily listen to this rule as
well). Basically the repair structure!

Details:

wz segfaults on gamestart, the logo gets shown, but after he loaded up the
game it crashes before viewing the mainmenu.
packages i added for the game before install:

Details:

I get this bug in the one player skirmish and the campaign. Whenever I open a
researched topic in the intelligence display the game crashes to the desktop.
I didn't have this in 2.0.10 
This only happens if I click a researched topic (for example Hardened MG
Bullets)Hope the description is helpful enough.

Details:

Just to make on thing straight, I still previously had bugs in version 2.0.10
appearing and even now still... I'll try to make more logs and report back
about that in future. I believe these bugs that happen are quite similar to
version 2.0.10.

First I still get crashes sometimes just trying to start one of the default
warzone maps (random)... Maybe more frequently now due to having AI teams...

Second I found during game play the (Demolish Structure Icon) disappears from
the build menu. (Having 1 AI Team Mate)

(One note: Is the AI supposed to research technologies for you to be shared
and vice versa?)

I followed the same steps you provided in the 'Read Me' txt for getting your
own music playing but I couldn't get music at all where as with version
2.0.10 I could... (Maybe I'm doing some steps wrong on my account?)

Just a note about this error... I was using multi turret tanks in
combination.

Problems with MULTI-TURRET...
(First I found SOMETIMES with the multi 2x Ripple Rocket Turret the second
rate of fire would not appear... (Maybe out of range or still trying to catch
target even though it was just a structure).

Second I found that when you have first applied a multi turret any, If you go
to change the first main turret the design for the second restarts. (Multi
Turret capable still active).

Third I found when you change from a multi 2 turret HEAVY body to a medium or
light body the second turret disappears as I expect is normal but if you try
to change back to previous configuration you can't use multi turret unless
you start a new design from scratch again.

(Of course the AI doesn't use every technology but that's what to expect as
normal).

I would recommend changing the tank bodies to make them bigger to properly
support multi turrets of any kind or if possible have a separately modified
turret for the second. Other than that great stuff! Awesome! Congrats!
