In the latest edition of "Vanity Fair" magazine (March, 2007) there is an article by Alexander Woolcott about "A Face In The Crowd," starring our own Andy. I found it extremely interesting (and complimentary), though not an article you should read aloud to the kids, if you get my drift. What is wrong with TV Land????
For quite awhile now the shows are ending ( or at least some of them ), at ten minutes past scheduled time. As long as this has been going on, you would think they could get everything on schedule. If they are doing it on purpose I sure don't like it. I find that when I share this significant bit of information with folks, they are looking at me kinda odd. Salt Risin' Bread...mmmmm, mmmmmmm, GOOD
I have lots of friends and relatives in North Carolina and when heading South for a visit I always load up on Salt Risin' Bread. It seems to be a special treat in North Carolina. I also send a loaf or two for Christmas. Another god food that seems to be hard to find in that area are White Hots. Don't know why. Could be that my friends and relatives all live in small towns...like Mayberry. (Anybody heard of Rich Square, NC?) Of course I have a difficult time finding Grits around here. I mean REAL grits, not the instant kind. Nothin' like Grits, lots of butter, salt and pepper to make a breakfast real special! I'll bet Barney enjoyed a "special" breakfast at the Diner from time to time :) Gotta go...I'm gittin hungry! I purchased two DVD's this week, and have enjoyed them both. First, The Music Man, starring Robert Preston & Shirley Jones, & co-starring Ron Howard. This was filmed in 1962, after Ron was playing Opie. Secondly, A Face In The Crowd, starring Andy Griffith. Hey Ya'll, I remember the color episode named "A Baby In The House"...where Aunt Bee kept little Evy Joy!! Andy came out of his bedroom in his boxers, then after realizing he was in front of Aunt Bee, wrapped a bedspread around himself, told her the baby was cryingAunt Bee looked at him and said "Oh! Andy!!" or something to that affectLOL. Then there was the time when Malcomb Merriweather wanted to help him put on his pantsthat one was a "hoot" too... Those are the only times I can remember.
