Waitress

2007-06-01 Thread johnna bixenman
I was so excited to see Waitress last weekend! I REALLY enjoyed it. I have to
respectfully disagree with Aunt Bee and others who have not recommended the
movie. It's a Hollywood story, remember, and we can't expect it to be
Mayberry-like just because Andy is in it. It was GREAT seeing Andy on the big
screen, and the character actresses were g--d. Now, I'm not saying I
agree with the immoral behaviors, certainly not! But I go to the movies to
forget my problems, and the characters' problems in this movie sure made me
forget mine for awhile! And, maybe you trained noticers are affecting me: for
those of you who have seen it, did you notice that Jenna's husband's name was
Earl, and at one point she called him Earlie? Curious, curious. Oh, and
thanks to those of you kind folks who have responded to my post about visiting
Jim Nabors and George Lindsay's hometowns when I'm on vacation. I almost have
plans finalized. Thanks bunches, bunches...

Re: Episode of Thelma Lou and Edgar Coleman

2007-06-01 Thread Cassandra Ponsford

Hey Everyone,

The title of the episode escapes me at the moment but I believe Thelma Lou
and Edgar Coleman were gluing hymn books back together... but I don't recall if
they showed Edgar (kind of like we never saw Juanita down at the diner but
heard a lot about her!)

Take care and have a great week!

That's in season 5's "The Lucky Letter," the episode in which
cautious/superstitious Barney gets all nervous after he gets a chain letter.

I say Mozzarella you say Pepperoni

it.
If someone can point out a specific scene in a specific episode, I'm
prepared to eat my words.

I think the original poster may be confused. At Mary's house Barney's
says he like "Mozzarella" which we would just call a cheese pizza. He
did have a funny way of saying it..I would tend to say Mots-er-ella..,
like Pit-sa. He pronounced with the soft Z sound like "mos-er-ella"

So you're not eating word yet Paul, but do have a slice of Mozzarella

Say it isn't so

2007-06-01 Thread Carol Stonemetz
Along the same lines, Humphrey Bogart never said "Play it again, Sam" in
Casablanca; Sherlock Holmes never said "Elementary, my dear Watson" in any
of Arthur Conan Doyle's stories; and no character in any episode of Star
Trek ever said "Beam me up, Scotty."

And Cary Grant never said "Judy, Judy, Judy."

Barneyism and Fishing

2007-06-01 Thread GRITTON, JOE A (ATTOPS)
I have another Barney ism to add to the list "vis-s-vis"

He mentions this once as "hand to hand combat"

"In case we meet him vis-a-vis"

I did my fishing survey during a busy time, so I may repost in a few
days.

Still looking for more fishing scenes, and Andy's favorite spot. Hodie
Snitch spot, in the boat, or on the dock.

RE: Pepperelli pizza?

2007-06-01 Thread Good, Don
I coulda sworn Barney said "pepperelli pizza" but I'll go with what you say,
Paul. You're right about the other things not being said too. Here's sorta
another one: Strother Martin ("Cool Hand Luke") didn't say, "What we have here
is a failure to communicate" (there was no "a" in what he DID say). As Yogi
Berra (reportedly) said, "I didn't say half the things I said."

Don Good

2007-06-01 Thread Dan Goodwin
Paul did a good job on his little posting on things people never said. So I
think it is time I shined some light on his little charade. After extensive
research, I've determined that there is really no such person as Paul
Mulik - it is just a pen name for Allan Newsome! I have spent hours and
hours reviewing all the Digests for the past 4 years and have discovered the
Allan and Paul have the same handwriting - 12 point Times New Roman! Check
it out for yourself!

I remember seeing a few pieces of film from production meetings for TAGS.
Both Andy and Don were smoking in them as well as most of the production
staff as they sat around the table.

Thank you, Paul, for clearin' that up in my mind. I could have sworn

in the episodes.

I wonder where that one came from... I think you'll go hungry before
you hafta eat them words!
