TAGS sighting and Bowl Season
I happened to tape an Oprah show because she had a cast reunion of the Mary Tyler Moore show It was great to see Gavin McCleod. He wasn't robbing a bank or playing Andy in a Movie (Sheriff without a Gun) , but reprising his "Murray" role on MTM. I have to say that I loved the TAGS reunions that were done on their own...not on a talk show. Before you know it, in addition to the holidays beginning, there will be 17 Bowl games. (College Football) Now if you don't have a favorite team, don't worry, us Mayberry fans can focus on a couple of teams. The first one is Boise State. Now I know that Idaho is a log way from North Carolina, but Boise State has a special connection with Mayberry. Do a little research on the Bronchos, and I think most will figure out what it is. They play in the Poinsettia Bowl on December 20 against TCU. The other team is just as worthy, of having a Mayberry connection, but they have a bunch more fans that Boise State. This is a big school in the state where Aunt Bee of Orlando lives, and where Barney once thought about Andy visiting that Alligator (hint) farm. So what is the special connections?? Still Learnin'
Good Mayberry mornin' everyone. As a member still learnin' I appreciate so much what all of you bring to our Mayberry Group. Y'all are welcome to come sit on my porch anytime and share a lemonaide. Allen, I hope you had a wonderful Birthday! Ken, I loved your Christmas List..very fitting ideas. Harry, your additions to that list are as well wonderful. I do have a few questions for anyone who may know the answers. I am still in the process of collecting all of the shows seasons and have almost all of them. I notice that there are several DVD's out there that also have episodes on them as well. Sometimes they are called "Volumes" or the "Best Of". Are these additional episodes or if I have the complete 8 seasons, will I already have them? I don't want to miss any. Also, are there any extra shows or movies that were done after the original series was over? And what about "Mayberry RFD"? I can't find those at all. I was also wondering if the name of Andy's wife has ever been mentioned and if so, what is it? Come and sit on my porch, there is always room. I was watching the episode when the Griffiths went to Hollywood to see the filming of " Sheriff without a Gun ". Andy said he was 6 foot. I always thought he was taller than 6 ft. Everyone in the show is shorter than him. Anyone taller than Andy? Howard Sprague ? Whose the shortest in the show? Whose the tallest? Holland _ Suspicious message? Thanks, Ken, for the thought. After all that scraping and painting at Ol' Frank Meyers' house my nails are a sight! Besides there's nothing like a manicure and 15 minutes worth of breathing around Miss Ellen to relax a fella after a busy day in the local government.
