Betty Lynn at the Andy Griffith Museum

2010-07-17 Thread Jeff Koontz
Betty Lynn will be making monthly appearances at The Andy Griffith Museum
July-October as they celebrate the 50th Anniversary of TAGS this year.
Scheduled
dates are:

Tuesday, July 20th, 12:30-5:00 pm
Tuesday, August 17th, 12:30-5:00 pm
Tuesday, September 21, 2010, 12:30-5:00 pm
Sunday, October 3rd, 2:00-4:00 pm

Autographs are $10 each and an 8x10 glossy photo is included. This is a great
opportunity to meet Themla Lou without the crowds of Mayberry Days, tour the
museum, and enjoy a day or extra long weekend in Mount Airy. Museum details are
on their website at http://www.andygriffithmuseum.com.

Re: Andy's Book

2010-07-17 Thread Allan Newsome

Hey Folks,

Since folks have been mentioning it here some lately, I thought I should
clarify that the Andy Griffith autobiography that folks see on some
sites has been listed very prematurely.

There is no release date for this book on the horizon.

You can be sure that whenever there's anything confirmed to report about
it, we'll have accurate news here. And whenever the book is actually
available, TAGSRWC's own Weaver's Dept. Store
(http://WeaversDepartmentStore.com) will of course be stocking it. But
for now, there's no news.

Do you think Goober ever found a good use for that brick that Warren

Yes, particularly if he checked with Ernest T.

Floyd's First Show

2010-07-17 Thread Ray Hadorn

To find out which Howard McNear's first episode you need to look no further
than that extra fine website maintained by none other than our beloved Allan
Newsome at http://www.mayberry.com.

Just click the link on the right called, Cast Member/Episode Database and
type in any cast members real or fictional name and you will get a complete
list of the episodes they appeared in and in order.

In this case, you will see that Floyd's first apprearance was in Episode 13,
Mayberry Goes Hollywood.

Bob and Ray

2010-07-17 Thread tubist
Congrats to David Quinn and Dewey, who knew that Mary McGoon was a character on
The Bob and Ray Show (aka Matinee with Bob and Ray, and other various similar
titles). The duo would often sign off with Write if you get work and Hang by
your thumbs, the former phrase being the one Andy Taylor used on TAGS once
when releasing a prisoner.

The final incarnation of The Bob and Ray Show was on NPR, in which these catch
phrases were updated for Internet users, to Hang by your modems and Write if
you get it to work.
