Favorite Quotes

2012-01-11 Thread Larry Hamrick
Hey, Mayberry friends. Things have been kinda' quiet on the digest lately so
here's something we haven't done in a while.
Favorite Quotes.
Andy: 'Barney, have you been?you have!'
Barney: 'Rule #1, Obey all rules.'
Opie: 'Just what can you do with a grown woman?'
Aunt Bee: 'I stay in the house too much.'
Gomer: 'Water and air's free, now gas, we make a charge for that.'
Floyd: 'You gotta' go to Mt. Pilot to get a good suit.'
Goober: 'Ain't you gotta' jack?'
Howard: 'I'll have to ask Mother.'
Helen: 'What are you, some kind of Svengali?'
Ellie: 'Women are just stupid little fools.'
Otis: 'Food and water for my men and horses.'
Skippy: 'Hi, Bernie.'
Daphne: 'Hello doll.' (a classic)
Clara: 'Maybe a little more allspice.'
Big Maude: 'She's a convicted husband beater.'
Leonora Poltice: 'I've just given you an A in breathing.'
Briscoe: 'Justa' bed and a bible.'

I could go on and on.

If you're a TAGS fan, it's hard to pick a favorite quote, favorite episode,
favorite character. They're all so good.

When you read these, let your mind go back to that scene. Great stuff.

My favorite scene: Barney reciting the Preamble. So, so funny.

If you like, share yours.

The new iMayberry Community Page is great. Thanks, Allan for all you do for us
Mayberry 'nuts'.

Things I Learned About Goober from Mayberry RFD

2012-01-11 Thread Ken Anderson
Here are a few things I learned about Goober by watching Mayberry RFD.

Goober's family owned the rubbish hauling business in Mayberry.

Goober's older brother Braydon was a brilliant engineer who worked at NASA.

Goober was given a job teaching Driver's Education at Mayberry Union High
even though he never graduated from high school.

Goober helped write a comic book story and received half of the money when
it was published.

Goober was the deputy and only law official in Mayberry after Andy left.

Goober never talked over three minutes on the phone and used an egg timer
to make sure.

Goober owned a reel to reel tape recorder.

Goober lived in the boarding house right next to his new gas station.

Goober's life long ambition was to become an elder at the Mayberry Church.

Goober slept in bright red pajamas.

The governor's car

2012-01-11 Thread Paul Mulik
If I were Barney, I would have been a tad suspicious of the license plate on
the governor's car.

Check the DVD closely and I think you'll agree that it's actually a doctored
California plate. Instead or NORTH CAROLINA it looks more like NOTH CAPOJLNIA
or some such.

Trained Noticer

2012-01-11 Thread DAVID QUINN

While watching an episode of TAGS this morning I noticed something I had not
noticed before. You know how Barney is forever talking about his father and
mother. You know his father got a ticket from the sewer inspector and his
father has a rock to strike matches. His mother has a clock in her stomach
and does not like people to wear her hat, etc etc.
Anyway I had no memory of Andy ever mentioning either of his parents. But in
this show Andy mentions his father. Can anyone guess the show where Andy
mentions his father or what story he tells about his father? Here is a hint:
 It involves a weapon.

Orville Hendricks - Selling Butter and Eggs. Evan talks about me all the
time. Some day I am going to wash out his mouth with soap.
