Was flipping through the channels when I spotted Clint Howard in a movie entitled "My Dog Skip". Trust me,he was no cute little Leon this go round from what little I watched. Dewey in NC I was working out at the gym this morning when I spotted a sweet young thing walking in.I asked the trainer standing next to me,"What machine should I use to impress that young hottie over there?" This weekend TCM broadcast the very first talking movie, The Jazz Singer. While I was watching it, about 1/3 of the way through the movie, Al Jolson broke into the song "Toot Toot Tootsie".I said to Martha, "That man must have gotten into Dr. Harvey's Elixer". Hello All Talking about books, on kindle there are a couple of books called Murder In Mayberry. Andy is still the sheriff and a retired man is deputy. Together they solve crime in Mayberry. The are pretty decent. Check on Amazon. They may not show Mayberry as perfect as we might like, but the spirit and Andy are. Good News and Bad News
I will begin with the bad news. I woke up early this morning and went into the bathroom. I turned on the light and saw my reflection in the mirror and went right back to bed. That means another six long weeks of winter in Eau Claire. Now the good news. I have been asked to be in a parade in Iowa. They want both my classic cars. I will lead the parade in the squad car. Behind me Linda will drive our open convertible with the Little Miss Piglet Princess. She will be riding in the back in a bathing suit. Being the main industry in Iowa is raising hogs, we thought she would wear a little crown of pork links. This year it is Valerie von Smooch's turn to be the princess. Regarding Jim Nabor's wedding. I just hope he remembered the corsage and that he was wearing thick socks so the hairs on his legs didn't stick through. Rumor is also spreading quickly that when he sang on TAGS he was actually lip syncing. (Which he probably really was.) Now we know for certain that Barney did in the choir, but I think we should keep that a secret. Got to go outside now and snow blow again.
