Aunt Bee
Orville, I gave a think to your mystery of why Aunt Bee would get a birth announcement for Arnold. She and Clara went to high school together and I wonder where that was if they both ended up in Mayberry. Also, she helped raise Andy so maybe she have been in and out of Mayberry. Since Opie and Arnold were the same age, Arnold's father was probably around Andy's age and knew each other in school. Aunt Bee also told storys of Andy in high school. I agree with Elizabeth about Aunt Bee popping in and out of Mayberry. Since she wasn't married, she could come and go as she pleased. Remember she said she had raised all those younguns somewhere else and was so thankful Andy needed her to help raise Opie? I take it that Ange's wife had just passed away a couple years back and since Rose up and got hitched, she now had a place to go. She had gone to Sweetbriar with Clara and they probably kept in touch with all the doins in Mayberry thru the years!
